90% of people aren’t worth the time

  • I prefer just listening to it in Japanese, but even knowing just basic Japanese you start seeing inaccurate translations in the subtitles too (especially with cussing).

  • Expressing my opinions means I’m a troll.

  • The entire headline conveys nothing whatsoever.

  • Bank of America and US Bank are so corrupt that I distrust any bank that has America or US in its name now, though I already avoid any bank that was part of the 2008 financial crisis bailout.

  • I’ll grant you that the links to content are informative but usually the comments are full of people missing the point, taking your comment out of context, etc. like this person that’s trying to act like I’m racist because I said it’s difficult to find vegan food in Mexico.

I’d say 90% of comments are just a waste of time. I would never come here expecting positive engagement with others.

  • Leaving this community because the constant Reddit talk is so draining. Who fucking cares?

  • I really don’t come to social media to change the world or people’s minds. I don’t know where this mentality of “you must change people’s minds” comes from. When was the last time some rando changed yours?

  • I really hate the "em-dash = AI" myth. I've probably been typing em-dashes since before half of y'all were born. I am not a cat bot. I will not cede the em-dash to AI!

Yeah seriously, I use em dashes all the time too so I guess I’m a bot now too.

  • I’m super into it. I’m a UNIX nerd at heart and kind of wish it would become more popular than Linux (with most of its distros a hodgepodge of files everywhere), and for the desktop I really enjoy macOS. I’m excited to see where this might go.

  • Cabron

  • Cabrón directly translates to “ass” or “donkey” but it’s often used like “asshole” or “idiot” either offensively or in a casual/friendly sort of way.

  • Am I the only one that isn’t quite understanding how parts of the brain of John Wayne Gacy were obtained? The article just acts like it’s so easy to obtain all this shit.

  • This whole “what do you think of Reddit” and I guess now “what does Reddit think of Lemmy” discussion (debate?) is so tiring. I really don’t give a shit what others think about Lemmy; they’re free to form their own opinions.

  • This joke is so old it’s been in mainstream movies even for like 5-10 years now.

  • I completely agree but for the sake of argument this could be used against any Linux distribution too. The difference though is that you’re not going to have tons of distributions of Windows with differing sets of packages.

Don’t know what my point is since I just raised an argument and kind of solved it on my own.

  • Of all the valid things to criticize the US over this is the most petty, and because the account is just a day old I just assume this is trolling.

  • Clicking things is so Windows

  • the efficient move is to make it infinitely reproducible and immediately unavailable to anyone without a subscription.

  • I don’t use it but I would recommend Kopia due to its content-defined chunking, deduplication, etc. I’m writing a fork of it that allows any RClone adapter to work as the frontend or backend but it won’t be released for quite some time.

Otherwise I sync most my files to Backblaze by hand from time to time using Rclone and client-side encryption.

  • Well you write Estados Unidos which is Spanish but put EU and unnecessarily explain what it stands for instead of just abbreviating it correctly in the first place (or not at all)
