"then" is used to depict time, sequence or a causal relationship. "than" is used with comparative adjectives, to depict comparison.

  • Just build the OSS version of java-impl with the patched version number as expected by the shitty software.

  • That looks like buttons in the thumbnail, on the left of the visualisation.I'd say that's enough to call it UI.

  • I would consider 2K at 27" to be the sweet spot for 1x.

  • “just turn it off lol”

Yeah, that's probably just people who read the initial comments from back when secure boot keys were not user configurable (and support wasn't available in Linux) and kept on echoing it all the way to the present.

Kinda similar to the "Linux is just secure" echoers, who might have started from some proper argument explaining what kinds of security problems don't exist in systems developed using Linux and why they don't require installing a 24/7 antivirus background process. Because people tend to make catchphrases. I too sometimes, forget the implications and tend to make them.

  • I am guilty of this too.

Despite considering that I need to setup secure boot for my laptop, I have kept it on hold for a bit too long. But then again, considering the area I am in, I can hardly expect someone to try and steal my data or try to put a ransomware or similar thing, if it means having to get physical access for it. Much higher chance for someone to just steal and sell the thing as is.

  • Nope

Exactly.Silicon is not a rare earth element.Neither is Aluminium nor plastic nor Lithium (it's getting rarer alright, but doesn't fall into the category).

The amount of rare earth elements is really small in these devices.

  • As long as it is something I want to be loading all at once, I would go with JSON and use the JSON binary format provided by QJsonDocument and forget about it.But if I expect it to get bigger and need stuff partially loaded, things get lengthier.Stream Reading libraries (e.g. the XML one in Qt) makes it much longer to write and that's where I would consider whether to use a database instead.

  • Yeah, seems weird.Normally one would use multiple horses and some ropes for that. No idea how you would manage that with a single dog

  • Your disk quota shall be reduced by 100MB before redirecting you to ed

  • If I am using Excel, I am using Windows and I will be changing all text to use CR-LF newline format (if sending from a Linux system) anyway.

  • more of a concept

And it's better to be considered so.The name itself suggests a Comma as a separator, but we know how inconvenient that is and that tab characters tend to be useful in most cases.Even LibreOffice Calc asks the user what they expect as the separator when given a csv file, even if it has enough commas to feel correct.

  • One big reason for requiring comments being updates the same time as what is commented. I once managed to do that for a while when I alone was making and maintaining a project.

It becomes harder, the more people are working on a project and the larger the project gets.

But the alternative would lead to Java-like function-etc names and that is not very desirable either.

  • I'll take both. One on each side of my house.

Now to by a few kilotons of ceramic tiles and zinc and copper wires.

  • So the legal owner loses the deed and the squatters evacuate. Now the state gets an extra house.

  • Not to forget, he managed to get a little girl off the reigns of Big Tobacco

of course he didn't. she'd probably get right back on after a few years

  • But what about the tons of yeast that they are abusing to make beer and stuff?

Oh right, they don't have a central nervous system so they don't count?Pretty Xenophobic, I'd say.

  • Were we talking about psychopaths, or bad ppl?

  • But of course, spreading tobacco smoke and reducing the IQ and creativity of the whole human population, which in turn causes them to be unable to find a proper replacement for the things that you are against, while also increasing the rate of ageing of everyone, is pretty cool.
