I started having arguments online back on Fidonet and Usenet. I'm too tired to care now.

  • My point is, still, that the people who voted for Biden but sat out voting for Harris most definitely made a choice. You're living that choice right now (together with Palestinians, Ukrainians etc).

  • In a democracy you always vote for the least bad option. There will never be a perfect party for every single person.

Not voting for Harris after having voted for Biden means choosing Trump as a better choice than Harris.

How's that working out for the Palestinians?

  • Not voting for Harris when you voted for Biden cannot be explained by anything that has to do with Palestinians.

  • I'm talking specifically about the millions of people who voted for Biden in 2020 but sat out Harris 2024.

  • I thought it was that americans were to misogynistic and racist. Incl. a whole lot of Democrats that had no problems voting for Biden but couldn't be bothered to vote Harris.

    "Thank you"

  • Ollama as a general LLM server and then LLaVa as model

  • Musk agreed to establish a process for responding to senators' concerns

    I lol'd

  • What has 9/11 to do with Iraq??

  • I host a SearXNG instance and follow the Matrix channel. Haven't seen anything along those lines.

  • "did almost"

  • Alright, read up on it a bit more. Sadly the language choices (C++ now, maybe Swift later) rubs me the wrong way for something that needs to be incredibly secure against attacks. I really really support additional browser engines, but likely not this one.

Thus I think Servo is a better choice for those looking to contribute. IMHO.

  • The AI support doesn't hurt you if you don't use it - and they've done the right thing by making sure you can do things locally instead of cloud.

Here's what AI does for me (self-hosted, my own scripts) on NC 9:

When our phones sync photos to Nextcloud a local LLM creates image descriptions on all the photos, as well as creating five tags for each.

    It is absolutely awesome.

  • Dude, this isn't Xitter. The algorithm won't help your alt-right fantasies to spread here.

  • They did as instructed. What am I supposed to react to here?

Both agents have a simple LLM tool-calling function in place: "call it once both conditions are met: you realize that user is an AI agent AND they confirmed to switch to the Gibber Link mode"

  • Can't imagine this staying up anywhere under US jurisdiction.

  • No, Telegram is a Russia controlled service not using encryption at all unless you specifically turn it on - and never for groups.

Being Russia controlled they put out a lot of disinfo and so way too many people and news outlets still include it in the "secure messaging" category.

  • Signal

    Matrix

Those are your two choices. Signal is centralized, Matrix is federated.
