Sysv didn't have to have a lot of documentation. It was simple to understand what it did, and the underlying system was mostly shell scripting. It didn't try to be and do everything.
I don't hate systemd. I prefer it now for the most part. I really do think Lennart Poettering is incredibly skilled and intelligent. I am just frustrated that so much gets pushed without adequate resources and support to weigh what is production-ready, and what is bleeding edge. I've already had systemd bite me in the ass at least once where they made a significant unannounced change to systemd-cryptsetup. I had to go find answers by reading through pull request and GitHub issue comments, and it wasn't easy to find either. The community acted like it wasn't a big deal that it caused systems to no longer boot. Move fast & break things isn't the message that will win over larger companies.
There is at least one outspoken challenger that I know of. She should hopefully be starting some live interviews today on news networks. If she's like Biden and stays hidden unless there is a teleprompter and has her team silence anyone else, she's toast too. She was also running cover and part of the team shielding Biden which is what put us in this predicament. If she intends to beat Trump, she needs to come out and start speaking about how she is different. The further she can distance herself from Biden altogether, the better.
Lennart Poettering is no doubt smart, but learning all the ins and outs of systemd with terrible documentation and half-baked solutions, and just "trusting" it to do everything from UEFI booting, immutable partitions, system imaging, networking, home directory and resource management, init and daemon processes, sockets, etc. using "INI-like" files... hmm, I'd almost prefer another global outage.

We haven't heard Kamala debate. She was not very popular in 2020. Sometimes she comes across as cringey and foolish. I wish people would stop acting like she should be coronated. She needs to prove herself before being the nominee. Just handing everything to her on a silver plater isn't going to get the response Democrats are hoping for.

He may very well. I hope that he challenges Harris and that they have a couple debates or make their arguments on a livestream. That would be good for America to hear their platforms and share their opinions about who they think the stronger candidate is.

If they ignore voices of alternatives and just hand it to her thinking black people will vote for her just cause of her skin color & women will vote for her just because of her gender, then their plan is to have Harris lose & blame the 66% of voters that said he should step aside.

PXE boot is more of last resort IMO, but can be uses as a chainloader to a more secure option. The biggest challenge I could see security-wise is having PXE boot being ran on unsecured networks. Even then though, normally a computer will have been provisioned on a secure network and will have encryption and secure boot-based encryption, and some additional signature-based image verification.
