  • Please let me know if you figure it out. I opted the detached header approach a few years ago because it had most of the same benefits without the headache and poor support. I'm wondering if it might be possible to replicate what Grub is doing as it us relatively trivial but that doesn't mean easy. Basically you'd have a Secure Boot signed bootloader that is able to boot a protected file system (secondary /boot) where your kernel & initramfs, or combined image exists. This secondary boot partition can be a lot more flexible though so it could even read a sparse-baded file that has a file system stored in it, and then from there you'd unlock the second layer of encryption. My guess is it can be done using something besides Grub and you'd have full access to all the algorithms available under cryptsetup.

  • Can't we just make the rich eat each other?

  • Period tracking apps should store no data at all in the cloud.

  • Why on earth would the news even give her the attention? I can't imagine anyone going to the news saying they regret their vote less than a week after the election unless they merely seek attention.

  • Yeah, you buy a gaming PC with Windows and you insert a USB stick and install Linux. Otherwise, you'll be paying a high premium for a company that does basically the same thing. Things to look out for are try to find a PC with Intel networking and bluetooth adapters. Realtek is relatively well supported, but has been known to have issues.

  • The arsonist in this scenario would be the corporate Democrat consultants and Kamala herself. You run the same campaign in 4 more years and you'll get another Republican. It is time for self-reflection and people to demand change in the Democratic party. Failing to do that is exactly why Trump got re-elected.

  • That's not how I saw the photo. I didn't see it as being a Republican on one side and Democrat on the other. I saw it being an establishment Democrat on one side and a Bernie-like progressive on the other.

  • You missed my point entirely. My point was that we wouldn't have Trump had Democrats focused on popular progressive messaging and not the align with the Cheney's, always support genocide, pro-corporate messaging.

  • I never said that. But go on and tell us why you think Trump is the good guy.

  • That establishment Democrat on the right looks surprisingly happy.

  • And in other news, X still requires users to sign in to see almost anything.

  • Democrats are still always posting on X, and then users are forced to sign up for X to see their post, and then users are radicalized by the nonstop bots and AI feed manipulation going on by Musk... Pretty soon there will be no Democrats left.
