i was in the middle of a story they were on top of and it was twisted by the GWBush government in horrible ways. Ever since I have had a lot of respect for them even when I didn't like what they were saying
so if you don't like this story or the headline, do yourself a favor and read it and then look deeper at with a critical mindset
i have had similar arguments, in the US. I welcome immigration. One of my grandfathers was famous for fighting the western expansion and our tribe is famous for being the only people to make the US Army sign a declaration of defeat but the killings of people on the Oregon trail was our failure. People with purpose will always move and fighting it is welcoming disaster. finding ways to coexist is what we should be focusing on. Trying to relieve suffering is what should be our end goal.
so when people tell me or other native Americans, we should go back to my country. We can't, it's gone. the rez isn't a country. it's a small safety net to hold off the erasure of our culture. there's just the US now and we have to make it more welcoming for those that need to find a place.
only death and suffering will come from closed borders and isolation. stagnant culture and ignorance. hatred of the outsiders. it's just a losing battle and the Lakota won their fight but they lost the battle because they didn't understand the numbers of people who were willing to brave the risks of immigration
from my interpretation it's not letting the user control anything except the prompt you give the AI, it then returns what it thinks you should build your list (and no doubt influenced by corporate interests)
people down voting you haven't considered the cost of dealing with the waste. Consider how long and expensive Hanford Washington cleanup is and how much damage it's done to the environment around it. Then there's Fukushima Japan. The damage will be dealt with for a 1000 years. And the reactors that don't break still have so many spent rods and other waste that can't just be thrown away. The best idea was to store it in the bottom of old mines but nobody wants it shipped over their backyard to get it there. It's a dead end.
I love soccer and this month has been a banger of live soccer for me. Bonus was one of my favorite players scoring during my chant ⚽
for the last few years it's been building up, I started a chant at the 24 minute mark to celebrate the team and they all know me for it. They have come close and try to get a shot off but last weekend was the day it finally found the net, right as I was wrapping up the chant. I look forward to giving that guy a big shout out next game
Two people who were in the back seat of the vehicle witnessed the deadly shooting, the sheriff's office said. Webber allegedly asked them for their help in disposing of the body, but they refused, got out of the car, left the scene and ultimately flagged down officers with the La Plata Police Department, authorities said.
Debian + KDE and then install synaptic and your basically there man. https://itsfoss.com/synaptic-package-manager/
You could go with Ubuntu but it has telemitry bullshit (if you don't care then its fine). Ubuntu is just the commercialized linux that is based on Debian, basically the same thing but with the Ubuntu store and settings on top of Debian. Launch Synaptic once a month and refresh and apply updates or add the software from the repositry from there. Debian is all about being stable so it wont have all the latest versions of software but if you want a Windows XP version of Linux that just fucking works, Debian is the way to go. Everything has a .deb installer if it is trying to be available to the wider Linux user market.
one day, I looked out my window, and I see this dude. white guy with tattoos but no shirt and only one shoe. walking down the center of the street.
i live in a corner of a notorious neighborhood. my corner is the good side by all accounts. the other side is nicknamed "felony flats" and probably other negatives. the city I live in has a few bad neighborhoods and this is generally considered one of the few that you might get shot in.
so I see this guy and I know he needs help, and I want to call 911 but I'm conflicted because half of my internal dialogue is that the cops are going to kill him
i didn't call. because even though he's clearly a danger to himself, he wasn't threatening anyone else
