While speaking to Frankenstein, he tells him, "My food is not that of man; I do not destroy the lamb and the kid to glut my appetite; acorns and berries afford me sufficient nourishment...The picture I present to you is peaceful and human."

so yeah, I forgot that part. My copy is a 1963 paperback. It has a beautiful image on the cover but its starting to fall part, the cover has come apart from the seam. Its been a few years since I have read it but it is one of those books that stays with you, for sure!

  • it doesn't really go into what he eats but he doesn't need to eat

one thing that is often misunderstood is how smart and cunning the monster is. And he only really harms people in relation to punishing Dr. Frankenstien

  • The way he draws ladies is amazing

  • And the bulbs popped with such a wonderful sound

  • Dude fresh eggs are so good, I don't have chickens but my wife's coworker has some and we get a dozen eggs every so often. The best store bought eggs are a pale comparison. Like a good store egg has a nice yellow orange yolk but the orange yolk of healthy home hens is just amazing

  • you probably need to change your sorting

set it to Hot and usually it will give you new stuff. Make sure to find some communities if you set it to subscribed

  • I like it better here, sure its not as populated but once you find a few good communities and join in, it can be a lot of fun

  • I got distracted by the GreenDay video and didn't care to read the article

  • Let me tell you something, pendejo....

  • That lady has witch tattooed on her neck, that's hardcore

I knew a guy who had jaded on his neck. He said it was like armor and nobody fucks with you when you have that kind of tattoo. I wonder if she's going with that same idea, keeps guys from coming on to you if you're holding a sign that says basically fuck you dudes

  • That's where it can be one of the outliers and turn positive in the replies. I hope you have a nice day.

  • After reading the article, I feel that the reply was negative and fits the article assessment pretty well

  • It was amateur but readable so I wouldn't say it was badly written. Someone probably had a hard time being his editor and staying objective

  • I read the first couple TekWar books. The first one isn't that bad. Lots of good ideas but if I remember correctly the second book was just dull and I never finished it. Probably would be a good audiobook, maybe...

  • Yeah, nothing is perfect. We're just trying to be the best we can be. Humans are the best in many ways but always and forever, we are the earth trying to make a better and stronger creature. We are the top of the evolutionary scale but that's not a ending. There's always going to be more. In 50,000 years, you and I might be like chimpanzees to the current job holding top life. That's not a slight on us. We are what we are. This is our time. Let's make the most of it.

  • Do you think it's a bot or just someone who's posting their links (for whatever reason)?

I don't really have a problem with bots that declare that. We have a feature to block that. What bothers me is people setting up bots and trying to hide it.

  • I'm fine with it because I am just a single point in a massive soup of life on our planet. Everything is broken down and reformed. This time it formed me. Next time maybe it'll form a human but it's not really important. What is important is that I do my best to make it to the end of this form and respect the others along the way.

  • reminds me of this time I was joking with a coworker about names, her name was Anitta. She told me that she had a boyfriend in college but she broke it off when he propossed to her and got upset when she said that she would not take his last name.

She was never going to be Anitta Mann

  • I once got two jaywalking tickets in 5 minutes at 9pm in Seattle. Cop was just a jerk. His car was the only car to be seen.

I crossed after he passed, I was in the fucking crosswalk. And then a block later I crossed during the blinking caution and made it to the other side before it was solid.

I contested it in court but this is before Seattle stopped letting cops abuse the law. The judge couldn't really do anything and said that if a cop gives you a ticket you're basically guilty and that's that.

Thankfully Seattle changed it's law after getting bad press for one incident when a Japanese girl was visiting to see Ichiro and the Mariners. When the game got out everyone was walking out and a fucking cop singled her out because she left the crosswalk but there was literally 20 other people doing that same thing. It was clearly racist and to try and keep a massive lawsuit from happening they changed the laws of jaywalking. I'm sure the cops still abuse it for minorities or punks walking around in an empty downtown after hours

  • same, it was one of the few childhood memories that is pure and was truly something wonderful

I remember getting so excited about the Sunday Calvin and Hobbs, I still have that last Sunday comic from my local newspaper.
