  • I havn't eaten at McDonads in years. Maybe 1 time in 10 years+.

    But its not about the taste, its about everything else. I don't really go to any of the major chain fast food places. Sometimes I will go to Taco Bell or Carl's Jr but usually I try to go to the locally owned or regional chains.

    In my area there is a place called Zips thats an old fashioned burger place and Taco Time which is not mexican food but a weird PNW version. They have crisp burritos that are so dang good.

    Generally I try to support local so thats why I don't go to McDonalds.

  • everyone likes to point at 1984 and the dystopian future but I disagree. I'm of the opinion that the message of that story is more directed to the people who conformed and end up at the bottom of the food chain, locked in a hell of their own choices.

    The real inspiration for 1984 is Jack London's The Iron Heel

    it's so absolutely on point about our lives right now under capitalism and these ultra rich assholes.

    Published in 1908 and never more accurate about the world today than anything I have ever read.

  • use the rss feed in your favorite podcast app, it should have a feature to subscribe with a rss address. on android I use Beyond-Pod and it works great with an rss feed. populates pictures and everything

  • Basically, Machine A is plugged into ISP, it can only route to what ISP has in its routing tables which usually creates a long list but it really is just a list that is built on ISP knowing a friend and that friend knowing a friend and that friend knowing a friend until that friend knows the ISP that hosts the system you are trying to get to. It happens in a blink of the eye but still its a big game of who is friends.
