  • you need to hit the bong, dude

  • Entropy is a real monster that rarely is part of the forward thinker. It is great to understand it as a young person, it will make you a master of your trade when you reach the leadership spaces

  • it is a good thing to give someone a way out, even Sun Tzu suggested it

it lets people compromise, and that is what made america great

  • you thank your car?

whatever floats your boat but I think we both know you are just being contrarian now

  • why are you arguing that at me? I just argued that its not a human, AI is a tool and should be treated as such. If my tool sucks, I will tell it so and quit using it. If my tool is great, I will use it to the best of my ability and respect its functionality.

everyone else here is making scarecrow arguments because I just don't think it needs to be anthropomorphized. The link speaks about "tens of millions of dollars" wasted on computing please and thank you

    that is fucking stupid behavior

  • stupid fucking idiots....

if you have a family generational farm, best to remember what made it work back in the day and consider local crops because you ain't sellin shit outside the country for the next few years

  • In IT the first problem/question should always this:

Is it a people problem or a technology problem?

IT can fix technology problems, managers need to fix people problems

if someone gives an IT person a people problem and they try to fix it, it will probably not go very well

same if you give a manager a technology problem and ask them to fix it

this is the most important lesson that leaders needs to understand

  • Management will take you further and give you many more and different doors to open

Computer Science will have a grind in it and maybe one day you make it big with something but it will require long hours and many difficult days and coworkers

thats just my perspective as a person who has been in IT for almost 30 years

  • it isn't this for sure but it is very much advertising gone good

Michelin tires would put out road maps with advertisements and they started to include destinations with restaurant reviews in them, that was like the biggest critical review that a restaurant could get back then. So they took it really seriously

  • those people who only see black and white are just as bad as MAGA, no doubt about it

  • but dont anthropomorphize your tools. And it's odd when someone does.

  • I see people beat up their things all the time without getting upset

I don't really care when someone smashes the door closed of their car

or smashes their keyboard in frustration or tosses a pen that doesn't work right

  • its a hammer, do you teach the kids to thank their tools?

I understand teaching the children respect and how to behave, but AI and Siri/Alexa are just tools. They don't need to be anthropomorphizing ai, IMO that is dangerous on a humanity level scale.

  • no, hes the writer that has made a name by being the conservative writer for liberal publications

  • he did call out the lies about the Iraq war, he just placed the blame on Rumsfeld and Cheney

but he has called it a mistake many times

I think Brooks is a complicated figure but one to pay attention to, even if you don't like his conservative stance

  • my county has more than half a million people but only 250k live in the big city, many of the voters are rural farmers

they dominate the federal races because they are reliable and loud. they also always vote Republican

It's a sad thing but they need this pain in a big way. Their cash cow is out of Congress and her replacement has only one bill in his name... stupid fucking idiot wants to dissolve the NCAA and make it federal.

    LOL

    fuck you

  • probably, i don't like acronyms for this exact reason
