  • Kellogg's abandoned the promotion, with half the camel undiscovered, after a child choked on a metatarsal bone.

  • "I had a dream with you, too! Did you wake up sore, too?"

  • Sure. If Trump dies or resigns, Vance will probably start every meeting reminding everyone that he's in charge since he's the rightful president. Then all the actually powerful people will just continue to do whatever the fuck they want.

  • I mean, he wins either way. He is probably content to keep banging the VP couches, but if he gets a promotion that is just gravy.

  • I mean, he's standing behind a demented octogenarian with multiple felony convictions who does four impeachable things before breakfast, which consists primarily of fast food and overcooked steaks. From an actuarial view, Trump has the lowest chance of finishing his term since that guy who died from pneumonia he contracted during his inauguration.

Vance doesn't mind that he looks like a knob-goblin because he's maneuvered himself to real actual power, which he never would have achieved on his own gravitas or charisma.

  • Just so we're all clear on this, Maxwell testified that she never saw Trump do anything "concerning" around her.

    We already know this.

That doesn't mean Trump isn't a rapist and a pedophile. We already know that Donald Trump is a rapist and a pedophile, from his own statements. We know he has been credibly accused of raping a 13 year old girl who was tied to a bed for Trump and Epstein to rape. We know that he has been found legally responsible for lying about not raping a different woman. These are facts, and they are not disputable. Trump is a rapist.

This is political theater. Trump wants the grand jury testimony unsealed so that he can point to it and say "see? She says I didn't do nuthin." And Trump's legal team knows they don't have a valid argument to unseal the testimony, so they can point to the judge and say "see? They're hiding the truth from you."

Grand Jury testimony is always sealed, and almost never unsealed. That's because the relevant information is made public during the trial.

  • Vance is an idiot, but I think he knows what he's doing here. We're not the intended recipients of his threat. He's trying to get more Democrats on board with changing the subject. Pedophile rapists from both parties are in the Epstein files, and Vance is sounding the horn of Gondor for all oligarchs across partisan lines to come to his aid.

  • Well now I kinda want a pierogi.

  • The oligarchy. Trump is a symptom of the same disease, but he's hardly the cause of it. Workers aren't negotiating with Trump, and the President does not dictate wages. He wants to instigate a strike, or any chaos really, because he thinks it will help him politically. It will create a scapegoat he can blame for the problems he's causing, and it will distract from his numerous scandals related to him being a serial child rapist.

  • Fuck no, that's not at all what I'm suggesting. Unions need to fight, and strikes are usually the best form of leverage the worker has. Strike, certainly, but remember that your opponent is not the President or this administration. Trump wants this because he thinks it will help him. But if we are prepared for the spin, and reject the lies, then it will not help him. If he receives his fair share of the blame, it will be an albatross around his neck.

  • That's exactly what they want, a massive strike that they can blame for all the economic problems caused by bad management. Trump wants to pretend that he's running the country like a business, but he has the goldenest of parachutes. So he will crash the country into a depression and say "see? this is why unions are a problem."

  • Or, he has some inside information that the Intel CEO is going to resign and wants to pretend he has that kind of power.

  • RAID is carrying a spare tire in your car. Backups are like having an extra car in the garage in case your primary geta totaled.

It's possible you'll never need either one, but if you pop a flat, a whole extra car is overkill.

It's not a perfect metaphor, since most people don't have a spare car.

  • That was actually the explicit plan, per Thomas Jefferson.

  • So much of our government worked on the idea that nobody would be brazen enough to break convention, and the untested belief that voters would immediately and vehemently reject anyone trying to openly abuse their power.

We now know both of those assumptions were wrong.

  • If software is a service, then service can be denied at any time. Host your own infrastructure, and reclaim digital ownership.

That goes for large businesses and individuals.

  • If she's out, and not suicided immediately, she's probably got some ridiculous amount of cash stashed away to ride out the end of the world on a tropical beach somewhere.

  • I can't excuse ratfucking. The name of the game is literally democracy.

There's no predicting who can win what election anymore. There's no predictive value in knowing someone won such and such demographics on whatever type of ballot. I don't want Pete to run because I think he's paper thin on almost any meaningful issue. He'll say whatever he thinks will get him the most votes in the moment, and he'll abandon those principles the minute the winds change. He would be better than Trump, because he isn't a felonious child raping grifter, but that's not a reason to support the guy. That's a reason to find someone who is actually a leader, who will stand on their convictions, and fight for actual justice.

  • Sexual predators never feel remorse. Their crimes are heinous, and it's not possible to do something like that to another person if you have a conscience.
