  • this is the first i am hearing of this. i am unable to find any source for this. maybe i suck at searching but can you source this information?

  • what kind if work? seriously, i hate dealing with photodhop files but every freelance artist i hire uses Photoshop

  • there really is no reason. even corporate owned free affinity can read all photoshopnfiles. gimp is finally getting better but not there yet.

  • are you a real person?

  • no, i dont think that applies..you have consented by sending the message. if person a sends a text message to person b saying bad things about person c. i am.pretty sure sibce you sent the message, person b can show person c. i think its because its written.

then again, you can sue over anything. thats civil. (i just realized you said sue)

  • the additional problem is that if someone you message with enables it, then your messages (to that person) are uploaded as well

  • and it just jeeps getting worse from there

  • holy fuck i am tired. everytime i read something like this is think "what kind of things do we not know about"

  • i am also a software developer and at a very large company and we use enterprise subs for ai. i use claude pro at home. its very good. i didnt say it wasnt good. i said it its replacing anyone. certain jobs will go away but news one will be available. like every yech transition. i am not onle a software dev but i am also 50 years old. i have seen a few transitions.

AlSO.. bad title aside the reporters main points were about keeping power out if big tech companies, which i agree with. i also.think ai used by most people will be local soon.

  • the tech isnt killing 70% of jobs. its not going to.

  • for those wondering and wont read (it is an interesting read).. the us government blocked it because they felt the japanese goverment had too much control of the OS.

  • aside from virtualbox being owned by a man who has actuallyvsaid we should all be watched by a camera 24/7 and that data stored on oracle servers... who stillnuses this. we have moved on. tech has advanced

  • i am very happy. something happened in 2025 that made me pro europe but then they started pushing meta's age id law. i am happy the courts are keeping france honest.

these laws are about tracking and control. i always tell people to never support a law that claims to protect children. its always a lie.

  • you are correct, everything in thatvarticle ia stupid. but his first tweet was being more if a dick than stupidity. he enjoys being a dick.

i have a better response to him thn anyone else gave. vlc is orovided as open source , a community effort. for a oerson who not only coded ebtire game by himself but also created a programming language., he can pull down vlc and fix his problem... if its so fixable.

  • this doesnt take away from xbox, gamepass is xbox. they havent cared about windows for almost a decade

  • no, microsoft stopped caring sbout windows because thats not how it makes money. thats how it made money i the 20th centiry but not how it makes money now. Azure is where they make money.

plus, this is more work for them. this entire push has been by meta.

  • i dont understand why you are confused. are you suggesting they should be in the OS? so each library has to be managed at least 6 times and then the ides and language tools have to support all these different stores? i bet ci/cd would just be awesome

or are you suggesting that all language maintainers work together in harmony and support one another?

C and C++ dont have package managers because they are older than the concept.

  • as someone who uses ai to help on researching an issue/question - i have no understanding whyvpeople just submit generated code. i realize i just dont use it to generate stuff. i use it to find stuff.

when this forst came out, i thought non devs would use it for creating an app that they use at home just for them. but no, i constantly see people posting about their project and trying to getvpeople involved. a project fully generated by an llm. or as in the issue here, generating code to be merged into a project..why? i jist dont get it.
