  • Maybe I thought about this too far and missed freenet's author points, maybe I'm just pissed off with people playing by the rules that wants to remove other people's privacy and increase the privacy of people in power.

Maybe I'm just lame and this is the coolest thing ever.

  • robust safeguards against illegal usage

So it's not truly anonymous? Isn't the entire point of anonymity is to be against people snooping on your private business? Also, since when illegal a catch-all term for all bad things?

Owning slave was legal, and that is certainly bad. Apartheid is still legal in places and that is certainly bad. Criticizing the govt are illegal in MANY countries, but that is certainly bad. Jaywalking is illegal, but does that warrants it being bad?

Does the author of Freenet appoints his moral to a law other human made, god(s?) made, or he himself made?

  • Can they ramp up their distribution for south east asia? There's just too many slop hardware in Indonesia, too many AI, too little rightly built laptops. Can't believe I said this, but the only sane buy for new laptops are old gens thinkpads and apple devices.

I don't even like using macs, but it's true, their build quality is better than your run of the mill asus/acer (the predominant brand here) laptops.

  • how about FILTERING if it has AI content in it? Like, I don't want porn/risque content on my search, means they have the mean to tag videos and filter it.

    How about filtering slop too?

  • easy, use the salt pool to create salt batteries, now youre several step away from creating an energy plant in the middle of nowhere!

  • any names?

  • alternative with free sync and password manager?

  • they do? you go to the settings, home screens, and increase the dock rows.

  • findroid

    not a fish

    scam

  • There's already peer to peer, anonymous, network that's ready to be used on top of other existing tech like mastodon... This one is a grifter-filled, cryptobros, toys that only benefits those who seek short term profits. Don't buy into this.

  • im not sure codeberg currently had the infrastructure to support day-to-day operation of nixpkgs development. I'm using codeberg daily for my own projects, and sometimes the diff for MR is broken or load for too long. Not mentioning stability issues.

Of course I wouldn't complain of something thats maintained by volunteers. I'm just saying the traffic for nixpkgs are currently big and I'm pessimistic codeberg can handle it.

  • 10 minutes??? Did Linux just won by literally doing its own thing?

  • lokinet is for data transfer, like a message from your phone to mine, not a currency. Thats why its odd it uses staking instead of any nodes.

  • yet they couldve done this with volunteer nodes or even their own, because not even the server knows the content, right?

  • i concur, let me carry EVERYTHING, let me do my thing on the fly

  • shame their entire node system relies on cryptobros tech.

tor doesnt need currency to back it up. i2p doesnt need currency to back it up. why the hell lokinet does?
