I think you just made my point. The rich designed a system where they trade complacency for the illusion of control. And they didn't have to give up any meaningful amount of power.
Being taught to hide your emotions is part of my point. It stunts emotional growth and then they struggle to communicate or understand feelings. Which I believe leads to treating other people like objects.
Isn't it though? The police were created to hunting down escaped slaves. The government was set up to keep the wealthy land owners in charge (only they could vote afterall). Schools were created to meet the needs of growing industry.
I'm struggling to find anything that was built specifically for the people and not the rich.
It's not ethical to train your child's brain to believe fairytales. It's like foot binding, forcing an unnatural form on their growth. They grow up handicapped.
I'm a manager. I prioritize tech debt by lying to my stakeholders. The only downside is they don't appreciate the cause of our stability. But it's the right decision for the company.
Google "age of consent laws" and you'll see that some are below 18 and some are at 18. Since I don't know which geography we're talking about, I go with 18.
Underlining "fact" doesn't make something a fact. Referencing laws does.
