The thing is that I kinda dont like the idea of stopping people from freely expressing themselves, but I do agree to the fact that allowing them to be verified might be another small piece of legitimizaiton. We shoudl all be defending democracy, but when does tollerating intollerants become harmfui? A tolerant society shouldn't tolerate intolerant people
I don't know man, but Lemmy and the Fediverse seems to be a more mature ecosystem than that. Digg just looks like a stripped-down version of Reddit with no specific feature
Our numbers might be small just because we are humans who care about, well, human interaction lol. So it's not us to be unpopular, but big corpos to be overinflated by bots and shit
Not only that, Firefox and Firefox-Based browser are at least 2x times slower than any chromium based browser. Vivaldi is not as quick as plain Chrome, but at least it mitigateas the privacy concerns of normal Google Chrome
The company seems legit. Moreover they are very transparent about their business model, or at least enough to be trustable. I am not against Proprietary software per se, I just dislike AI Slop and value when companies respect me as a user.
You got a point about the Firefox Forks though
Once I saw AI being integrated into Firefox, my trust towards the Mozilla Foundation dropped permanently. I have now switched over to Vivaldi which is an amazing European browser that kinda mimics Opera in many ways (but without the spyware ofc)
I hate that now there's even automated profiles managed by AIs which basically ragebait constantly on normal subreddits. And im not even talking about large ones. Heck this must be the worst psyop ever made in recent history
