  • Going over the wikipedia article as a refresher and I totally forgot about how he (author Richard Matheson) had some cool biological explanations for the vampirism.

    From Wikipedia:

Neville additionally discovers that exposing vampires to direct sunlight or inflicting wide oxygen-exposing wounds causes the bacteria to switch from being anaerobic symbionts to aerobic parasites, rapidly consuming their hosts when exposed to air and thus giving them the appearance of instantly liquefying. However, he discovers the bacteria also produce resilient "body glue" that instantaneously seals blunt or narrow wounds, explaining how the vampires are bulletproof. Lastly, he deduces now that there are in fact two differently reacting types of vampires: conscious ones who are living with a worsening infection and undead ones who have died but been partly reanimated by the bacteria.

  • In the book (short story?) the protagonist dies and the reason he is legend is that he was the last human and was like a boogeyman because of his hunting and killing them.

  • Dune.

Turning the Bene Gesserit power of Voice into some weird gun was fucking stupid.

  • Oh yeah, the military-industrial complex has been an issue since Eisenhower's warning was ignored on his way out. Then again, he could have done something more about it while in office. JFK had a speech about it and wanted to curtail it before getting assassinated.

  • I was a flight attendant in my early 20s. I had no set schedule and often worked really early or really late paired with multiple takeoffs and landings made sleeping on command a necessity. I can usually fall asleep within 10-15 minutes. Faster with airplane engine noise.

I've heard the same from a lot of ex-military folks.

  • Covid made me a hair farmer.

  • Pretty sure the Carter administration was the last one to have no new wars in over 100 years.

Edit: I was wrong. The US was still involved in wars during his administration.

It's been super easy finding out the USA has only had 8-34 years of peace in it's history, not so much what those years pg peace were combing lists on wikipedia with my phone.

  • So having Captain Ron murder all the cargo ships on behalf of England would not only hurt England's pockets but also get out really fast.

Not to mention the impact on Kurt Russel's free time.

  • Old cartoon from the 80s: Dark Water

On Steam, if you click the magnifying glass on the search bar you can search by multiple tag combinations; pirate, dark fantasy, etc.

  • What if you ruined their tan!

  • Do my bird feeders count? Does my garden built with biodiversity and creating small pockets for criters and bugs count?

Not using pesticides and trying to use organic products to manage my gardens.

If those count, then 100% daily through active and passive means.

Our yard has bunnies, wild birds, assorted pollinators, squirrels and even an opossum living under our bay window. All of this on 1/2 acre in the suburbs. Planting perrenials is fun.

  • Remember all the manufactured panic about DEATH PANELS from the ACA? Turns out they were right about the death panels, just that the actual death panels are the insurance companies they forced us to keep in the equation.

The citizenry need our own death panels, like a 12 Luigi tribunal meting justice on behalf of the afflicted.
