  • My daughter is learning it in public school.

  • Ooh I just changed my air filter for the house the other day!

Maintenance in general does seem to be something lacking in an age of disposable and easily replaceable items. Often times it is less expensive to replace vs repair, which is an upside down paradigm for sustainability...unless the retired item is recycled or repurposed.

  • bate

I think you mean bait. Just trying to help.

Bait and bate are homonyms, sound the same but have different spelling and meanings.

    bate /bāt/ transitive verb

    1. To lessen the force or intensity of; moderate.
    2. To take away; subtract.
    3. To lessen by retrenching, deducting, or reducing; to abate; to beat down; to lower.

    bait /bāt/

    noun

    1. Food or other lure placed on a hook or in a trap and used in the taking of fish, birds, or other animals.
    2. Something, such as a worm, used for this purpose.
    3. An enticement, temptation, or provocation.
  • Only with Sue's consent

  • Yeah, but by using precise language such as 'more than half a dozen' we can deduce that thr amoumt could be as little as half a fortnight and probably less than a football team or they'd have said it was a dozen or more.

    Cracking fucking reporting here, eh?

  • Including an anti-ice journalist! That's hoe shite their vetting is.

  • Edit to add: Thanks!

I switched to vaping and thrn our vape shop introduced 0 nicotine mixes, think it is a B vitamin which gives a little boost (I forget the details). We were probably told when it happened but forgot or weren't really paying attention. After surviving uwitting withdrawal without murder we've been nicotine free since and I was even able to ditch the 0 nic vape pacifier.

  • My roommate did maintenance at a driving range and one day he found a chick without feathers on the ground. After giving the parents enough time to do something about it he brought it home and we raised Frankie ourselves. She would perch on my shoulder and play with my earrings. We'd leave the door open and she would fly around outside, but always came back.

  • I had some raven buddies when I lived in Seattle. Loved greeting them in the morning and tossing them breakfast.

We also have an itinerant hummingbee atour current home. I don't get to see him as much since I quit smoking but the tradeoff is worth it.

  • They're not as bad as a murder of crows.

  • You can't have dew due to you until you've paid your dues.

  • That's one of the details in today's coverage that kept getting under my skin: identifying them as citizens as if that makes it worse.

The already egregious violations of multiple civil rights taking place up to and including the murder are the story, not the victim's immigration status.

If they were not a citizen they are still entitled to all civil rights granted by our constitution; the Bill of Rights makes no mention of citizenship as a condition for the rights enumerated therein nor does the word "citizen" even appear in the text.

If they are allowed to take away one person's rights, all of ours are forfeit.

  • That's a cool plan. Cremation or tree pod burial for myself.

  • Deservedly so

  • Does That Mitchell and Webb Look count?

  • Lemon curry

  • That's what I love about summer.

    Tea on the lawn.

  • That's what I love about summer.

    Tea on the lawn.

  • Probably nostalgia speaking but I loved The Young Ones when I was a teenager.
