I wish we'd had more options in that race but it seems like the DNC doesn't bother with Missouri so we haven't had much support getting a broader range of primary candidates. Our ocal groups are getting shit done without the DNC, though.

A little interesting development this election cycle, which, admittedly I only have anecdotal evidence from several large groups to support it: a not insignificant portion of Missouri dems voted in the Republican primaries to keep the most toxic MAGA candidates off the ballot. We live in a red state and can't count on dems winning in the general and it sucks we have to use this strategy.

Emails show Cori Bush's PAC raised tornado relief money for a nonprofit the public cannot trace. Now the AG is looking into it

She's under investigation for hiring her husband as security:

Her husband was investigated for PPP loan fraud but a jury did not unanimously vote guilty. Along with the rest, this still seems suspicious. Still, it could have been a politically motivated investigation.

All these were good reasons to be suspicious of her integrity. Refusing to answer questions about the Tornado relief "charity" is what really drove a lot of people away.

Cori Bush has a lot of unanswered questions about what she did with millions in tornado relief funds, supposedly in a nonprofit that does not exist. She also hired her husband, who barely escaped prosecution for pandemic loan fraud, as her security using federal money.

This was not a kowtow to mediocrity and People didn't "votr to support genocide", they didn't want to support an openly corrupt politician any more.

I'm extremely disappointed in Bush for all of this because it also fucks up progressives elsewhere if they have to talk about her bullshit.

I helped my trans friends flee the midwest to the PNW because they weren't safe here, so I do have stakes and I am involved in constructive actions helping the community as opposed to supporting the opposition.

Using your trans status to ignore others is almost as short sided as your single issue voting support for the GOP.

After all, you just said I advocated for the GOP. Which should be pretty obvious I don't support.

Voting for the GOP is showing support in a very meaningful way with repurcussions. You're voting to put a party in power that has an active agenda opposed to your interests.

Regardless of how that race goes, a transphobe is going to win. From my perspective, that particular election is already lost. At that point my priority is making sure the transphobic Democrat has as little credibility as possible. And that's achieved by making sure they lose by the largest margin possible.

Your perspective is empowering a party with a transphobic agenda is better than a single trnasphobic voice that is part of a party platform that does not support their stance? One of those is a lot more likely to be able to enact harmful legislation a d you're directly responsible for any harm that candidate will cause.
