OVERSHARING TIME
My body doesn't burp; when I drink something carbonated I have to physically gag myself with something to get the air out. When I was a kid I didn't know this and would get pain in my stomach and didn't understand why.
Coke with my lunch two days in a row resulted in trips to my home room teacher to ask to see the nurse, or go home. My home room teacher crossed her arms and said, "this is the second day in a row you've done this to us," and lectured me about trying to get out of class. I had no way of proving that I was actually in pain. I was angry and scared and couldn't do anything about it. Do not give me the keys to the time machine or there will be violence.
how does the word "conservative" mean the same thing from generation to generation if the issues important to conservatives change every generation? I'm asking about the term, not the politics
Being lied to by your protector and guardian is enough to traumatize anyone at that age. You shouldn't be shaming the people who get hurt by it, you should be shaming the people that do it.
I didn't make that assumption.. you're confusing me with Mac who made comment which started the discussion. Adults with fully developed brains tend to be a little better at storing and recalling information like this, just FYI. Stay in school.
With one reply you start with backpedaling, then you suggest a moderate approach to the police problem.
Has hoping that the problem would improve worked for us so far? People are being murdered everyday. When school shootings happen, the cops wait outside for the gunfire to stop before going in.
Your moderate solutions and hoping for things to improve hasn't fixed anything.
We need a progressive solution or things are going to continue the way they always have.
I'm sorry but your suggestions aren't helpful and I won't be listening to any more of them.
