  • Or we could answer the question right here, to build our own body of knowledge:

Google says it's releasing its brand font into the wild to avoid fragmentation and allow developers and designers to “bridge the visual gap between first-party and third-party apps”.

It notes that until now, you might see Google Sans in Gmail, then open WhatsApp and see Roboto or a device-specific font. It sees that as a “persistent, if subtle, point of friction”.

This fragmented visual language, unlike the unified font experiences on some other platforms, has prevented a seamless digital experience. “It just doesn’t feel as nice,” stresses Visual Designer Megan Lynch. “On a subconscious level it impacts the experience.”

By making Google Sans open source, it hopes to allow UI designers in particular to craft a more unified experience across devices and platforms with clear, comfortable interface designs.

  • I see. Good thinking!

  • Welcome! I've seen you started two nord instances already. More instances are always a good thing. But I wonder, why did you start two very similar instances?

  • But, yeah, the Threadiverse is not big enough to spend here hours a day

I spend 3-4 hours on the Threadiverse daily. I'd say it depends on how you use it, how you curated your subscriptions and what you're interested in.

It's definitely possible to spend a lot of time here. But to be fair, I'm bilingual and there's a lot of content in German in addition to English content.

  • I don't think they can see this thread when they banned the thread creator.

  • I checked the modlog. Apparently you're banned from piefed.ca. Might be a mistake. I don't see any bad behavior from your account.

  • Gotta deal with the ramifications though

  • Lawnchair

  • Good idea. I can help with German translations, some CSS and I have a joinfediverse.wiki account as well. I don't think PieFed is relevant enough for Wikipedia or is it?

  • Skamtebord

  • A single user PieFed instance

  • Sure, there's always room for improvement. But a lot of books that weren't available on my instance I could just import from other instances or other sources. I've also got some good recommendations from the Explore feed on Bookwyrm.

  • Greetings to South Africa

  • Welcome!

  • That graph looks nice. There's also new instances popping up. Looks like healthy organic growth.

  • In addition, some hashtags you could follow on Mastodon-like softwares are #fosdem, #fosdem26, #socialweb and #fediverse.

There's a lot of stuff happening and watching these hashtags and hanging out on matrix when you're attending remotely gives you a little bit of a feeling of being there.

  • COPILOTS, COPILOTS, COPILOTS, COPILOTS!!!!

There, I updated it for you and I hate it.
