She/Her

I'm done with mindfulness and drinking water. I just want bad things to happen to bad people in power.

  • Me too! I got her after the bank I was working at got robbed. I had just moved out on my own and the house was way too quiet. I've had her for almost three years now and I'm convinced adopting her was the best decision I've made in that time period 💜

  • Callie the calico kitty :)

  • It does do that. I was thinning a little on top before I started and now I've got luscious locks!

  • cats @lemmy.world

    My best friend 😺

  • I remember the first Voat exodus. It became a Nazi shithole soooo fast. Glad it's gone now.

  • Everyone here is either a Linux user, Trekkie, or both.

  • Good mods/admins are worth their weight in gold.

  • Awww, thanks 💜

  • I was really surprised when I saw that flairs weren't widely adopted yet. They're super useful for community filtering.

  • ATProto is what Bluesky is built on, right? How does it differ from Activity Pub? Are there difficulties with bridging the two protocols?

  • Would you mind elaborating on the Peertube instance? How does it integrate/what benefits are there to integration?

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world

I'm still new to the Fediverse. What are your favorite unique things that your instance does? What do you wish was more widely adopted across instances/federated platforms?

  • Gender crises are some of the worst experiences ever. They're especially difficult when you're in an environment where you can't talk to loved ones about it.

It makes me very happy to see how trans-friendly Lemmy has remained even while the rest of the Internet caters to bigots.

  • I could have sworn I watched a video by FediHost about that, but I either can't find it or it never existed in the first place. I have seen some places move to Mastodon, so I edited my initial comment to be more accurate to my current info. Sorry!

  • Ask Lemmy @lemmy.world

What's been your best experience that you've had on the Fediverse? What about it made it stand out?

  • Good. I'm curious to see where they land. Most likely Bluesky, but I've heard of some local governments moving to Fediverse instances, whether they're Mastodon or local.

  • Heck yeah! I've been trying to actively make the switch too. Getting away from big-tech algorithmically-driven social media platforms feels very nice. I do miss a few of the communities I was a part of that don't have a counterpart here, but I'll get used to it eventually.

The community here is much nicer than reddit currently is. It feels more tight-knit. Almost like reddit was twelve or thirteen years ago.
