Social media is for socializing. They posted something in the lines of "we can't get graphics to work properly" and I sympathized with them about how hard it must be dealing with apples' dick moves.
I remember I told one of the asahi devs (lina?) How shitty apple is and how they try to make it as hard as possible for them to make a linux that runs on apple computers.
they got triggered, told me this is not the case and apple is very cooperative, then blocked me on mastodon.

I tried to push it at work but most of my team members didn't felt like learning this whole new workflow (they're "normies" you could say. Using windows, outlook, etc.)
Does this work with a central server of some sort or is it decentralized and the only thing we have are text files and clients, and the clients handle everything else?
I actually wrote a blog about this a few months back.
It was after a 12 day war (Israel+USA attacking Iran) and 40 day internet blackout, and then we got into another war (Israel+USA attacking Iran) and a 90-100 day(lost track) internet blackout.
It isn't exactly "how to survive the apocalypse" guide but it was a really helpful guide for myself and my friends and helped me keep working in those blackout days.
It's isn't focused on hardware, just software, since I'm a software engineer.
Keep in mind, check the solution's licensing so they don't suddenly start putting things behind paywall.
Use software that is truly FOSS (GPL for example) with no exceptions.
Saying this because I'm bit by mattermost's head-assery.
I don't like the term "AI coding", but recently I have been playing with opencode with it's hosted models and ollama for light local models. It's good as a rubber ducky, an assistant, or co-programmer.
Go is as serious as it gets.
Go is also pretty simple and gives you great foundation and understanding.
Either go with Go (!) or with a lisp like racket, following the book https://htdp.org/
These are different approaches but will give you a huge headstart and better understanding of how to actually design a system instead of getting lost in code. I personally recommend the second approach to people who ask me.
I read that the guy is a legend and genius (I believe that because rsync is fantastic. He invented that).
I trust in him knowing what he's doing. We should give him a hand if we want it to be better.
