With a bunch of engineering tweaks but staying close to original: maybe you could get it to be legal, but almost nobody would buy it. The gas mileage would be terrible. Maintenance would suck. Cars have EFI instead of carbeurators now for good reasons. And a car with no air conditioning would be miserable in lots of places.
Anyway if you wanted to do a project in that spirit today, I'd suggest making it all electric, but designed simple, like an e-bike on steroids instead of like a Tesla (which is more like a computer on wheels). Use LFP batteries instead of the higher energy but much more finicky and dangerous Tesla style packs, have some rooftop solar panels, maybe something like a street legal Kei minivan:
You can buy those used in the US for around $5K but their top speed is 40mph, and they are only legal to drive on slower streets. I was a little bit tempted but decided I needed something that can drive on the freeway.
Take notes while you read if it's a topic like history or literature. Write a few sentences for each page summarizing the contents. The summarization effort will make you mentally process the info, which will help retain it. Write down the page numbers so you can find the material later
Also, shut off your phone if necessary, to not get interrupted by notifications.
No idea what soulseek is. I've used newpipe and yt-dlp for downloading. Other than that I've just kept things simple with file based playback. I do use a few simple shell scripts to number the files sometimes.
Gotta wonder why random apps don't need special permissions to run and operate other apps. You can cause plenty of trouble maliciously navigating a browser even if you can't see the screen.
I'm currently using FreeOTP from F-droid. Aegis seemed to have way too much extra crap. You don't want to sync multiple 2fa applications together since the idea of the 2nd factor is it's only in one place. Even being able to back it up is sort of contra, but if you have to, make sure the backup is well safeguarded.
The basic TOTP algorithm is quite easy to implement fwiw. A dozen or so lines of Python.
Paper notebook for each person, really the simplest, unless you have continuous monitoring or something uploading data automatically. Otherwise, for stuff like weight and BP, the actual measurements are the main hassle and computers won't save you any time compared to that.
Added: for pills, timercap.com bottle caps are brilliant. They have an LCD display saying how it has been since the cap was last taken off the bottle. It eliminates the problem of forgetting whether you have already taken your pill.
Nah. But I knew (ok, met a few times) a guy like that. He kept entering and winning a certain annual short film contest. Finally the organizers called him and said they wanted to give other people a chance, so they invited him to make the official promo film for the contest instead of entering. I presume he got paid for that but don't know for sure. I half-remember that he also became one of the contest judges.
What politicians want and what the public wants are often totally different things. People vote on a few hot-button issues like immigration, and for stuff that gets less attention, politicians do what they want. So calling attention to chat control likely made a significant difference.
The good news is that the guiding document for the AI robots will be called "How to Serve Man". The bad news is it's a cookbook. :)
