I have a worrying feeling that for these people, fixing the system doesn't mean anything like "kick all the billionaires out of politics, change the electoral system & senate to give people genuinely equal representation, and start arresting politicians who take bribes and make millions on insider trades".

I don't know how old "abc" is, but it's particularly painful for those of us who remember $100 going from getting us a 32Kb RAM pack, to 1Mb, to 64Mb, to 256Mb, to 1Gb, to 16Gb, and then just fucking stop for ten years, and now going back to no longer being able to even get us 16Gb any more. I gave up reporting human trafficking/kidnap schemes (this sort of thing) operating in public Facebook groups after the fifth or so "we checked it and think it's fine" message, because at that stage I started to suspect that I'd been flagged by their systems as an unreliable reporter and none of my reports were actually getting looked at anyway.
That's deliberate on their part too, though. New storage formats have been coming out once a decade going back to the dawn of electronic computing. Pioneer demonstrated a 400Gb optical disc exactly 8 years ago to the day. The technology exists, they're just choosing not to mass market it.
The massive post-install downloads thing is also a commercial decision, not an immutable fact.
