  • The article says that the language in the constitution is for birthright citizenship, but the conservatives will try to make some sort of stupid nuanced argument to create a loophole that kick kids of undocumented immigrants out of the country.

But if Trump were to try to use executive action to eliminate birthright citizenship, courts would probably strike it down because of language contained in the 14th amendment, according to scholars.

Still, given the conservative majority on the supreme court – and fact that one of the people considered a candidate for the court has argued that the provision does not apply to children of “invading aliens” – it’s not a certainty that birthright citizenship will remain in place, said Amanda Frost, a University of Virginia law professor and expert in immigration and citizenship law.

  • This is unrealistic. Those showers would be an open floor plan. Gen X wrote so many songs and movies about hating cubicals that were not allowed to have any walls now.

  • Google is an advertising company, and just about everything they make is eventually intended to funnel people into their ad platform. Just saying.

  • To the surprise of many, after Trish and Cristy were prevented from using the woman’s bathroom, the potholes still remained.

  • His mistake was being totally nude under the trench coat.

  • This would actually be a pretty dope halloween costume.

  • Or you do what we do with the ADA - create new rules and let people sue when they’re violated.

If you make the cases easy to win with clear evidence, then lawyers will throw up billboards asking for business and they won’t charge unless they win.

  • My guess is that they picked the bottom and side tile, and didn’t realize that large tiles are a pain in the ass on curved surfaces. They require a lot of time to cut and mortar. Sheets of penny tiles are already cut into something that can flex on a curve.

But sane people usually continue the penny tile up one of the flat sides so you don’t have a hodgepodge of different stuff.

  • I see blue tile on the wall, penny tile on the sloped edges that transition to the base of the pool, hexagon tiles on the bottom of the pool, and the brown edge is what happens when a drained pool collects rain water and dirt. Drained pools usually have some sort of nasty dirt stain or mosquito cesspool in the deep end.

  • Google isn’t the only company that does this. It’s very common shitty thing that happens across the US. There needs to be some sort of law that protects parent’s jobs when they come back from leave.

Employers are required to pay out a certain level of comp when someone is on leave, but they could also just pay you a lump sum and cut ties. Then you’re fucked after leave ends.

  • Rookie shit. Real pros plant two palm trees and stake them so they grow into an X.

  • I’ve been looking at this meme for years, and this is the first time that I’m looking at it with a remodel in mind.

Why did someone decide to finish it with 3 different types of tile?

  • A lot of people who liked Twitter and didn’t like Instagram / Facebook are realizing that Threads feels more like Instagram for text, not a Twitter substitute.

The Twitter junkies appear to be amassing on Bluesky, since that experience is the most similar to what they were missing.

  • Pharmacists, hospitals or inpatient facilities don’t have to issue drugs for off-label use if they have a “moral, ethical, or religious belief or conviction” that conflicts with dispensing a medication off label.

They are not required to administer off-label medication if they have an “objective, good faith, and scientific” objection to the drug being used for anything other than what it is intended for, or if a pharmacist has documented that a patient is allergic to the drug or it could cause a life-threatening drug interaction.

Ok, so this bill seems like a bunch of stupid BS that basically allows quacks to prescribe stuff that they they’ve probably already been prescribing.

  • You counteract inflation by making sure people’s wages also change to reflect the new value of the dollar. Which they haven’t.

Prices don’t come down unless you enter a period of deflation. And if you thought inflation sucked, deflation sucks even more. Especially for a nation of people who hold a lot of debt. As the value of current grows, so does the value of your debt. If you have debt, your debt burden increases.

  • If you want to real dirt, search from reviews from appliance repair people.

  • Wray is a registered Republican that worked under Bush and was appointed by Trump. What did people think he was going to do?

His daily dose of Fox News isn’t telling him to stay.

  • Some people believe “Trump fixed it,” because he said that.

(He didn’t. He actually made it harder to enroll.)

  • Depends on the appliance. For example, LG dishwashers have good track records.

Different manufacturers excel at making different things. Don’t shop by brand, that’s how you get stuck with a lemon. Read the product reviews and expect different brands to be better at different things.
