  • This isn’t a recipe but I feel your pain and can I make a suggestion? You should buy a slow cooker. Hear me out, you can find a ton of recipes online where you just throw a bunch of stuff in the slow cooker and come back in eight hours to awesome stew or slow cooked meat or soup or … well lots of stuff.

  • Shake it like a Polaroid picture!

  • This is the right answer. 13 months of 4 weeks and an extra day on the last month.

  • The quote “Right now, there are 13-year-old kids about to invade Kamchatka in their first-ever game of Risk that look like Carl von Clausewitz compared to Trump.” just about covers the level of strategic planning but I don’t understand how tactical planning is also so poor. I’m guessing Pete’s purges have shredded the upper ranks of everyone who’s not a sycophant.

  • Is it? I’m on a Lemmy instance and I use Voyager as my daily drive, so I’m pretty behind on Piefed. But that does sound like a good idea.

  • So if I understand you, Lemmy would benefit from a grouping above /c that’s not instance related? Like Usenet had the rec.cats group which spawned rec.cats.siamese? So maybe a /u universe? If I wanted to read about television I could go to u/television which could merge feeds of c/television@piefed.social and c/television@lemmy.world and any other c/television@.? I could see possibilities of abuse but we shouldn’t let the perfect be the enemy of the good. Maybe a /u could be an opt in thing with a manager of some kind to prevent unrelated /c’s from randomly joining.

  • I think of all the movies everyone has mentioned only the Rocky Horror Picture Show is the one I’ve seen more then three times in cinemas. Sure I’ve seen a lot of movies three or more times but only Rocky had Saturday night Midnight showings that I went to for a couple of years.

On second thought the local rep house also played Stop Making Sense for a few months for Friday night midnight dance parties and I’m pretty sure I went to 10 or 12 of those too.

  • I totally agree especially with the “everything I don’t like is capitalism” low quality comments. I’m pretty leftist myself and I love quality discussion about how to make the world a better, juster and fairer place, but lemmy is chock full of “capitalism bad” Doomerism. Tons of “the world is shit” and “you’re an evil neoliberal” for trying to make things better instead of just curling in ball of despair and gloom.

  • Just like Anthony Bourdain said

"I understand there's a guy inside me who wants to lay in bed, smoke weed all day, and watch cartoons and old movies. My whole life is a series of stratagems to avoid, and outwit, that guy."

I too have to avoid giving up and being that guy.

  • Fuck Man, not just in documentation, in my whole life. I hope it’s because I’ve become better but I know there’s stuff in my past I’m fucking embarrassed about. And I know there are people I’ve hurt. But today I’m trying to be better.

So write some fucking documentation motherfucker be better this time.

    • Be excellent to each otheR And party on dudes!
  • In a post scarcity society time is the only limiting factor and taking time out of your day to cook for others is going to be one of the greatest gifts you can give.

  • Typical Boomer Doomerism. It’s all hopeless and we should all give up and die eh?

  • Oh hey now don’t go being reasonable. Didn’t you get the memo? We’re all just supposed to throw up our hands and say nothing is going to happen and then just sit here being angry but not active. /s

  • In some states in the US yes.

  • I’m a huge fan of Apollo I mean Voyager. I kid … I kid … Voyager is an awesome app and my daily drive for Lemmy. Pretty easy to use and not hard to look at either, but you really do need to use Dark Mode.

  • You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile

And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife

And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?"
