  • It's crazy how fast this is going.

  • Was there ever a bubble "too big to fail"?

  • This is a good read even if you're not a fan of doctorow yet.

Like another commenter said, his thoughts about centaurs and reverse centaurs are cool (basically whether you use technology or technology uses you).

Also his thoughts about copyright and if it would be good to reinforce it are interesting - he says that artists won't be paid well if their art can't be stolen for AI training, their contracts will be adjusted and that's it. He says what gives bargaining power is the fact that the output of LLMs can't be copyrighted, which means that human artists have to be in the loop of making tomorrows media.

  • We will never be able to replace our old thinkpads

  • Sure I'm even happy to have hardware diversity

  • I don't get it. On screen is fine

  • It's true. Also you will change as well with time. I was conventionally attractive when I was younger but was a mess anyways. Didn't help with dating. Anxiety etc

  • Then after you get passed the cookies popup and promo popup, the whole page shifts and gets injected with copilot summarizations right as you were about to click on something else.

you forgot ads. It's going to get injected with ads

  • "Should". Whatever this is just an article nothing is going to happen. Also I don't really think prosecuting one officer is enough

  • I never understood dark mode really.

  • Maybe this sounded too pessimistic. I always had plans for the best parties that ended short because I was too drunk or it just didn't turn out to be the best party.

Now I just make small plans and if big things happen that's great.

  • Especially on Nye you're not missing anything but drama and disappointment

  • I realized in my 20s that Nye is over hyped. I had a few years where I was underwhelmed with how my plans worked out and thus decided to just do small things and try to enjoy them but not have high hopes. It works really well

  • wrong

  • Not for me on linux

  • I bet it's this for so many people. Our libraries are full of games that work fine with older hardware.

  • Yup this isn't a fraud problem. Just an Amazon problem

  • I feel like grocery orders are a totally different animal. They can be delivered in bulk with a truck, going from house to house. It's totally possible to pay a good wage there. But the individualized a single driver can only deliver a single order at a specific time of day seems made for exploitation (Edit: There's a sentence in there somewhere, sorry). You're not going to earn a fair wage here because then it would have to cost as much as idk a visit to a barber.

Anyways, no hate towards you, it's probably hard enough, I understand.
