I haven't been in ¨he Navy,but I understand most everyone stays on the boat until they dock, and then they're back on the ship before it leaves again. Whwn the ship gets back to home port, then everyone can take a break.

It's amazing how long cheese lasts in the fridge. I used to buy small quanities, but now I buy in bulk. Soft cheeses like cheddar are the ones you have to watch out for, but I think soft cheeses such as feta with a high salt content are pretty hardy. Hard cheeses like parmesan are golden.
