in my opinion - lemmy is just trying to be defederated reddit. I think it would be mistake to think of it any other way.from that perspective - I see no problem with reposting highly upvoted reddit content, absolutely every major social network recycles content from other network. Only lemmy seems to be pointing that out as a problem for some reason.
