  • Do you happen to work in HR? You'd fit right in considering you defend arbitrarily applied rules at the behest of management.

  • I'm autistic. I didn't actually understand empathy until 4th grade. As an adult, I have an overly responsive justice sensitivity. Neurodivergent people don't just act different, they develop differently and will never fit into your boxes.

  • Oh I know a trick for that one too! Create some kind of pattern to the eating out that includes alternating on deciding a new restaurant without any input. This one works great if you do it intermittently along with the usuals with consensus

  • I've heard that the trick is to make it a guessing game.

We're going to eat out tonight, but it's a surprise. Guess!

Don't always go with the first option, keep it random between options

  • Shame cleaning is the only reason my apartment doesn't look like a scene out of Hoarders

  • Damn, Chicken broke Road's ankles

  • Yea, my loans have been passed around a few times. The tactic would still work, because there's only a limited number of federally approved student loan debt collectors

  • Fine, if they want to play these games then let's play. Student debt is over $1.6 trillion. If I stopped making payments individually, the ~$40k I borrowed is my problem. If all of us stop paying, it's the government's problem.

  • That requires an adjuster

  • Google workers actually launched CODE when they formed a direct-join minority union called Alphabet Workers United.

  • Unions aren't something that just happen to your workplace. Consider taking CODE's free organizer training and make it happen.

  • Thankfully the workers and unions pushed him out of the company through collective action

  • Wrong lesson, they need to grow food in their bunker along with the rations so they can remain indefinitely

  • I was curious since I'd never considered that, I became a member the old fashioned way. It doesn't look like you can donate directly, but CWA has a merch store full of reasonably priced, union-made clothing that you can buy to support them!

  • I think that it's a pretty reasonable assumption that intersection of people familiar with alternativeto and the people interested in seeking Facebook alternatives on the fediverse are also more than capable of spinning up a friendica instance on an rpi

  • Friendica is starting to seem like a fantastic option to serve as a hub account to the fediverse! There's a reason people liked Facebook at one point, and I think they're on the right track to advancing the idea with less corrupting influences

  • you'll also need to remember to interact with the platform like you were with them in public, for a few reasons. Plus the Internet could stand to be less harsh

  • if they weren't already organizing, I bet they are now. CWA has been receiving so many high quality leads for the last 2 years that they literally do not have enough dues-paying members to fund all of those campaigns. They're one of the largest unions in the US already.

  • welcome to fascism, where the only person is the one with power.
