    I bet that there's all sorts of fun facts about the differences between Republicans and Democrats. Just some guesses:

    • US suckage increases dramatically under Republicans.
    • Nearly all promising long-term projects that get started under Democrats suddenly ended without logic or reason by Republicans. Even if they started out with bipartisan support.

    We can add them to the well-know stats like the debt increasing under Republicans (also known as fiscal irresponsibility).

  • Why compare ICE to TSA? TSA was always "paid to stand three" (and look like they're doing something useful). How about:

    ICE is paid to hurt innocent people and the economy in general while there's...

    • FEMA workers who are out there actually helping people who really need it.
    • CISA employees who are actively engaged in fighting information security incidents. Probably the biggest impact of all government employees if they just stopped showing up for work!
    • Civilian Coast Guard employees who actually make it possible for things like search and rescue operations to function.

    ...who are not getting paid.

    Aside: Seriously, the CISA folks need to start being treated like they're holding the nuclear football. With the (unbelievablly stupid) Iran war going on, they're what's standing between infrastructure that works and suddenly having millions of Americans without power, water, or say, having a damn burst (which can happen if the right SCADA systems get taken over!).

  • For a wifi option, you can use Droidcam with OBS. Setup the virtual camera inside OBS and you've got a wifi webcam that you can walk around with.

    I've used that setup many times and it's sweet. At work my coworkers are all astonished and amazed when I use the OBS virtual camera pass-through to my virtual desktop to walk around while talking (I use a wireless headset for the audio). I can even show various overlays of my desktop with my face and a downcam I have setup for demonstrations (like a craft cam setup).

    Combine it with RVC voice changing silliness and they're all blown away. The security folks (of which I'm a part, haha) always freak out a little bit when they see me share my Linux desktop when I'm on Teams via the company's virtual desktop. "That shouldn't be possible!" Haha

    I don't have the heart to show them how you can copy and paste huge amounts of text into the virtual desktop directly (clipboard sharing is disabled and prohibited 🤣).

  • You don't need explosives. It has a spot in the front for a camera. One of the new microcontrollers with AI accelerators can do face recognition extremely quickly. It would be possible to use it as an assassination tool.

    Even if you changed nothing about the design, the speed and mass of the thing hitting a person in the face could kill.

  • The "ceiling" is the fact that no matter how fast AI can write code, it still needs to be reviewed by humans. Even if it passes the tests.

    As much as everyone thinks they can take the human review step out of the process with testing, AI still fucks up enough that it's a bad idea. We'll be in this state until actually intelligent AI comes along. Some evolution of machine learning beyond LLMs.

  • The fact that we all send 2-3% of nearly every monetary transaction to a completely unnecessary 3rd party that set these fees when real people did the processing instead of computers.

    Visa, MasterCard, and American Express do not need to exist. There's no excuse for fees on financial transactions. They should be free because there's absolutely zero cost to raise one account by $ and subtract that same amount from a different account. It's the cost of a few computers doing basic arithmetic.

    It's insane that we allow this.
