No, it's not wages that would increase prices huge amounts. They'd increase the price of goods slightly (depending on the good) but for the most part the biggest cost factor that increases when you decide to make something in the US is regulations.
Ya know, rules that prevent companies from dumping their toxic waste wherever TF they want. It's not just the regulations that apply to a specific company's business but all the regulations in their supply chain.
Consider a PCB manufacturer: They need epoxies, fiberglass, copper, gold, tin, and silver to make PCBs along with a shitton of associated chemicals. All of those things ultimately come from heavily regulated industries (because we don't want smelter waste full of things like lead, mercury, cobalt, and worse things winding up in our food and water). All that regulation costs money to deal with. Not just in actually complying with the regulations but also hiring people knowledgeable enough to make sure they're complying (and doing so in the least expensive way possible).
In countries like China regulations are basically non-existent because even if they have them officials can easily and cheaply be bribed to get around them (e.g. poisoned baby formula). Furthermore, the people are vastly more ignorant of health and pollution than your average idiot in the US. If some dude sees a company dumping tires on the side of the road they're likely to call the cops because that's obviously illegal. I'm China that doesn't happen because the people will be unlikely to understand the (environmental/downstream) consequences of that or will suspect the cops (and local officials) are in on it and reporting the illegal dumping could get them disappeared.
The most toxic industries are all overseas and we really do rely on them to keep supply chains going. Bringing them back onshore would drastically increase the cost of a shitton of goods just because there's no cheap way to dispose of byproducts here and there's way more requirements around handling such things.
To be fair, an iPhone could be manufactured entirely in the US it would just cost 4x as much. Maybe 10x, actually.
CPU manufacturing would be the hardest to bring online. The second most difficult one would be screens (though we may not have tariffs with South Korea 🤷).
In the US there's already plenty of PCB manufacturing, CNC machining (case), ultra hard glass (screen) manufacturing, and it's relatively easy to ramp up capacitor and resistor manufacturing. Things like USB C connectors would need some company to step up though.
That's old school. You gotta get into the modern equivalents: Airplane tracking and semi-autonomous robotics.
The most liberal states had the highest increase in home prices. Presumably because they're the places with the highest demand (for people to live there).

I don't know if Republicans will accept this. As much as they fear betraying Trump, taking away their power in Congress is exactly the type of move that could get Trump impeached (a third time).
Here's how that's going to go:
- He'll send in the military and they'll successfully kill some "drug dealers".
- Mexico will be (rightly) pissed AF.
- Mexico will retaliate by just ending all exports to the US of some essential goods (e.g. tomatoes, car parts).
- The price of those goods will skyrocket. Business will close. White people who voted for Trump will bitch that, "he's hurting the wrong people" again (leopards eating faces).
- Mexico will refuse to take "back" their immigrants because of Trump's bullshit.
- Trump will "suddenly" need to jail a lot more "illegals" that he's rounded up.
- They'll start making up stories about how all the millions of people in the concentration camps are nasty criminals and murderers... As an excuse for the poor treatment and blatant raping and murdering going on.
- Right wing media will tow the party line. Anyone defending the "criminals" (which will include families with children) is a traitor to the country.
History will repeat itself.

They know this is unconstitutional. They know this will result in fewer Christians in the future (nothing spreads atheism like actually teaching what's really in the Bible, LOL). They know it's going to cost the state a lot of money in lawsuits. They know it's going to make people hate them and create endless division and possibly war.
They just don't care! Conservative thinking is like CEOs only caring about next quarter. Long term consequences of their actions are always conveniently ignored or never even considered.
I know a ton of conservatives are super ignorant of reality but this one takes the cake. When you try to force one very specific religion onto everyone via the government you always get endless conflict. Just look at how it's working out in the Middle East!
I'd say they want people to die over things like this but I don't believe they think that far ahead. They probably think this is a "big win" and will result in a future of endless white, Christian children who go to church every Sunday and only ever vote for Republicans.
Instead it's going to result in more conflict, more school shootings, more bombings, and generally all around less stability in society.
People really don't like being forced to live under someone else's religion. So much so that they tend to go to war over it. Or you end up with situations where everyone lives in a constant state of guerilla warfare/insurgency.

- Planned Parenthood received about $148 million in 2021 and much of that was for providing COVID-19 vaccinations. No idea how much they're getting right now but I know it's less.
- The Corporation for Public Broadcasting has a budget of $535 million for 2025.
If they cut both entirely that's 0.14% of that $500 billion in cuts they're promising.

She lives outside all year round! We have a heater in there and heating pads for the winter months when it gets cold (we're in North Florida so it only gets below freezing for like a week or two every year and even then only at night).
She seems to prefer 65-75°. When it's around that temperature she'll spend all day wandering the yard with plenty of energy. When it's hotter she doesn't wander the yard as much when the sun's out and mostly does her foraging in the morning and evenings.
Historically, there were probably tens of thousands of people named, "Jesus" around that time. There were also loads and LOADS of people crucified by the Romans. If you were to make up a story and try to make it believable wouldn't you pick a likely starting point?
Santa is a stand-in for Jesus... for children. They're both magical beings that can perform miracles and have similar methods: Both Santa and Jesus have naughty lists and forms of punishment that come later; much later (both are equivalent lengths of time to a child though 🤣). Both bring "gifts". Both have traditional appearances. Both have followers that wear silly hats and strange clothes. But most importantly...

If you believe in Santa as an adult you're ridiculed. If you believe in Jesus as an adult you're just labeled, "Christian". Yet the fact that nearly every child eventually finds out Santa isn't real is quite disturbing to a lot of Christians. After all, if they could stop believing in Santa--who is so similar to Jesus in every way--then they could stop believing in Jesus.
Here's how it's going to go:
- Pentagon will put up enormous resistance because of cost and impractically.
- Pentagon officials will be fired left and right because, "they can't get stuff done."
- Eventually enough competent people will be replaced with loyalists then they'll actually start kidnapping immigrants and placing them in facilities that were never meant for large amounts of people.
- American citizens that look like the conservative enemy of the day will be kidnapped along with legal and illegal immigrants.
- The US government will get sued over and over again for fucking up basic shit like "accidentally" kidnapping Black/Asian/Latino Americans and even simpler things like keeping people fed (because the Trump administration doesn't care about competency; only loyalty; or these people, for that matter).
- Countries will refuse to accept the sheer number of people (same exact problem Hitler had!) leading the Trump administration trying to come up with "solutions".
- They'll force the kidnapped people to do traditional prison work. Except there's not enough demand for that many license plates so they'll switch to literally selling their labor, allowing Trump's personal circle of rich friends to profit at their expense.
- Due to unbelievable levels of sheer incompetentcy that won't work out so near the end of Trump's term--when he's panicking about having to face justice again--he'll attempt to implement a more, "final solution."
The article sucks. The FTC isn't going after Microsoft's cloud services because they're good/bad. They're going after Microsoft because of forced bundling. Same abuse of monopoly power they were found guilty of when they started forcing everyone to use Internet Explorer.
Microsoft is forcing customers to use their cloud services under all sorts of scenarios. Many of which have no logical reason other than to force customers into Azure.
For example, if you have a lot of Windows servers in Azure they will stop supporting you once you reach a certain threshold unless you also sign up to use their enterprise cloud AD service.
They already do this with regular Windows--you have to use AD if you're a business customer and you go past a certain threshold of systems--but in that case you can just get some Domain Controllers and call it a day. You can put them wherever you want (locally, in AWS, in Azure, wherever).
With Azure Windows servers though you're forced to use Azure AD (or you lose support and possibly access to other bundled services). You can't host Domain Controllers anywhere else. I mean, they'll let you have as many off-Azure DCs as you want but they must still be joined/synchronizing to Azure AD.
There's probably many other anticompetitive tactics in place within the world of Azure but that's the one big one I know off the top of my head.
