  • I'm no politologist or military strategist, but I'm pretty sure a lot of wars (not all of them) are started so that a nation's government can get better control over their own population. If the state can declare an emergency situation, they can use it to justify cracking down on political dissidents, invasive surveillance, restrincting freedom of speech, etc in the eyes of the public. It can also be used to ramp up nationalism, which works in the ruling class' favour. Pretty sure this is at least part of the reason behind putin and nettanyahu stirring shit up right now.

  • Not sure why the downvotes. I generally try to avoid extensions apart from ublock origin, but if I really need something, then I always get it from the developer's github, not from chrome/firefox store. WAY TOO MANY cases of open-source extensions getting hijacked with malware on the store but not on github. Remember cookies.txt? Or great suspender? Or stylish?

  • The term "built-in" is a bit fuzzy here. Librewolf just uses ublock origin. It's only "built-in" in the sense that it's installed automatically

  • Any browsers with good built-in adblocker besides brave? I feel like firefox's built-in content filtering does the very minimum, but I might be wrong

    system-wide AdGuard

This is the way on mobile lol. The android rom I'm using comes with a built-in systemwide blocker, which I didn't know about for a very long time, so I was very confused when I saw other people using the same apps as me and seeing ads lol.

  • I don't know, maybe

  • Do these things correlate that much tho? Not to toot my own horn, but I am fairly tech-proficient and have terrible typing skills. My technique is somewhere in between hunt-and-peck and touch-typing, despite regular typing lessons in elementary school. I imagine a lot of other people are like this, and vice-versa as well.

  • Recently switched from a certain predatory fruity phone to a phone from a certain Dutch manufacturer that has removable battery and replaceable parts. At some point, it got water damaged, and the charging circuit stopped working. While I'm waiting for the replacement part to arrive, I can continue using it by charging the battery with a bench power supply. Feels good man!
