  • Only 1 day? Then just a few fun things ....... Running, bee keeping, building outdoor kitchen, rebuilding my network and servers, smoking ribs and shotgunshells, swimming, playing records and tapes, quad maintenance, tree felling, wood splitting & stacking, and during lunch (burger from the grill) i'll think of something for the afternoon. But, the day ends with sauna for sure.

  • Guaranteed absence of flatpak will be a motivation for some to choose a non-systemd distro

  • You cannot trust anything that Iran signs

Can't believe we got to this, but at this moment I trust the word of Iran over that of the usa.

  • And if not, it's mtu

  • Tried it a few months ago, self hosted was free https://github.com/TwiN/gatus

(Otherwise uptimekuma or something, there are plenty of tools out there. If you wanna do it right 1st time for free : checkmk and or librenms, but it might be overkill for you just yet)

  • Basically this. You could start easy and basic with gatus. Monitor at least your gateway, the isp gateway and dns resolving.

  • The absurdity makes it also funny. On the whole I think it will reduce the risks of escallations.

  • Did not know I needed that! (Tram tracks, I'm covered on bbq's)

  • I can confirm. I always wear wool during the autumn, winter an early spring : zero insects!

In the summer occasionaly thin woolen socks, not half as effective.

  • He did not get awarded a nobel peace prize.

Sure enough he'll get the dad of the year award instead

  • Yes and no. Basically you're right. However, I use backuppc and it tries every hour. So (for me) it works with pulling laptop's too. Once they are on, it's usually more than half an hour (statistically enough).

Note: much is synced with syncthing to a central node. That data is backupped from there. So it's only laptop specific stuff that's pulled, missing a cycle isn't that critical to me.
