  • The change I want to see in the world is people no longer linking to or supporting fascist news sites like CBS News. I already don’t do that.

CBS doesn’t deserve your clicks, views, or money.

  • The executive branch doesn’t run or control the post office. Of course that won’t stop them from trying. Wondering who will bring the first lawsuit.

  • True. It will be interesting to see if Apple:

    • continues to work on the API
    • releases the API in other regions (like North America)
    • eventually moves their own AI to this API (eating their own dog food)

I think Apple got caught in a hard place where they had to start over and get things up and running quickly to head off any lawsuits about not meeting advertised promises about “new Siri”. Their first try didn’t work in iOS 26. They were aiming for 15 to 18 months to get the API working/tested. Let’s see what happens in another year or two.

Also Apple won’t be the only one in this predicament. WhatsApp is already having the same problems with DMA.

  • Please stop posting links to cbs news.

  • Yep you’re right. Supposedly the LDS church doesn’t donate to political campaigns (per Google). Though I find it difficult to believe they don’t use their massive fortune to influence elections.

  • I hope all these employees are actively looking for other jobs. Stop wasting your talents at Meta.

  • I’ll believe it when I see it. You can serve filet mignon and Texans will still vote for feces on a platter. Example: Ted Cruz.

  • I doubt this. Technology is continually improving. Computers get faster and run cooler every day. HVAC systems continue to improve efficiency as well. By 2030 who knows if AI as we currently know it will still be around. Maybe we will have switched to light-based circuitry by then as well.

  • Only a couple of species of mosquitoes actually bite human beings. At least one of those species is not native to the United States. We can safely kill those species and it should not impact the diet of birds and other things, sincere will still be plenty of other mosquitoes to go around.

  • They’re retrofitting existing cars. Leaving the steering wheel and pedals means they don’t spend money removing them. It also means they can remove the lidar bolt ons, and resell them as normal used cars later.

For more than three passengers, they’ll probably retrofit a larger vehicle like a van or an suv.

  • What are the odds this dude votes for Vance in 2028?

  • Mine doesn’t. Because I set it up with no Internet connection, so it’s just a dumb tv now.

  • Two wrongs don’t make a right.

  • There is something deeply wrong when it’s controversial to tell the truth.

  • Yeah, I’m more concerned about the invasion from the “smart glasses” fad filming fucking everything than I am this pie in the sky prediction.
