  • People will just switch to chicken, pork, or add “meat free Friday” to their menus. Consumers are fed up at this point and aren’t going to pay some of these prices.

  • I’m fine with “free reign” and “beckon call” because the meaning is retained and language evolves.

  • To whom/for whom is supposed to be the rule for when to use whom, but in American English it sounds way too formal.

  • Adverbs as a rule can go anywhere in a sentence, so split away, I say!

  • For me it depends on if you are quoting someone (punctuation inside quote) or just using a phrase like “woke” (punctuation outside).

  • Was it done laparoscopic? What pain killers did they give you?

  • Hard to believe DeJoy stepped down. Guess he got an offer from a right wing think tank or something.

  • They don’t care about Trump taking over CBS, they care about the Skydance/Paramount merger in progress. Paramount owns CBS. And Trump would push to stop that merger unless CBS, Paramount, and Skydance bend the knee.

The sad fact is, after the merger goes through they will continue to be extorted by Trump. It won’t stop with this one move.

  • Even early Phil Collins? His later stuff is easy listening cash-in schlock, but for me the earlier stuff like “In The Air Tonight” is inventive.

  • For me there’s a difference between an honest accent and laying it on thick. Someone like Dolly Parton has an actual southern accent. But most of what’s played on modern country radio is just an annoying act.

  • Came here to say the same. It’s all just the same song with the same words rearranged.

  • Still running Windows XP sounds like a security nightmare.

  • I don’t want any fair weather friends.

  • That is one janky app icon for a developer group calling itself “Icon Factory”.

  • Sounds like a Samsung issue. Maybe hold the grudge against them.

  • Interesting to read that they actually fired the engineer this time. The last time this was reported (more recent than the phone proto left at the bar), Apple didn’t fire the responsible engineer. I guess that person was too important to let go.

  • At least material design is readable.

  • Nature is fractal/reflectve (leaf veins look like branches look like trees). Circles are a repeating motif in the universe. Planets and other bodies like stars are spherical. They travel in circular orbits. Bubbles expand uniformly, like the universe.

When you travel in circles and spheres you end up in the same place but it feels infinite/no beginning no end — like the universe. Ever expanding no beginning no end.
