  • I use electric, and have had the same braun 9 series with cleaner for more than 20 years. You can replace the heads on it when they get dull (which takes a long time) and it has an automatic cleaner which keeps it working well even when you don't shave for quite a while.

  • I hope the AI agent will cover this use case.

  • Oh man I do this so hard.

  • In 1978, Congress established the “Gas Guzzler Tax,” requiring automakers to pay between $1,000 and $7,700 for every car produced that gets less than 22.5 miles per gallon. But the tax only applies to passenger vehicles like sedans and station wagons. SUVs and pickups, which often have much worse gas mileage, are exempt. That omission makes no sense from a policy perspective, but it is good news for carmakers producing inefficient behemoths.

  • It is multiple things. The CAFE light truck loophole you mention, the car footprint loopholes that were added by bush and Obama, and the lowest in the world gas taxes, and the gas guzzler tax which only applies to passenger cars and sedans but not to trucks and SUV's.

  • The US needs to stop giving special tax breaks to giant trucks.

  • 20gb strewn across 3 RAIDS, no idea what file system type they use.

  • Rivian is ready.

  • I've beeen a Synology user for a long time, but their practices have become more and more anti consumer as time has gone on. To go from DSM 6 to DSM 7 I was meant to buy all my security station license again. I downgraded again, it was painful.

  • This is only electric car market share.

  • I'm guessing they were the old upgradeable ones or that they didn't have significant need for memory or internal storage. Those are the only use cases where Macs make financial sense any more. On newer Macs you can attach external storage that's as fast as the internal storage so you don't have to pay the 10x uplift on storage prices at least. I'm still running the last version with upgradeable RAM and have all the storage external.

  • US scientists works in the same way.

  • Doing that will probably make it near impossible to get serviced, though.

  • The wording of the headline would be different if it were trying to convey that.

  • I think it's a slightly different connotation. "China scientists" infers scientists residing in China while not presuming their ethnicity, while "Chinese scientists" implies their ethnicity but not their location.

  • EU governments are probably the only path to mainstream adoption for desktop Linux. If they all did it and invested in the features they needed, it could provide a valid option for mainstream office use.
