  • This is what drives people away from the fediverse. I don't have this problem with any other social media I use (at least not to this degree). Twitter was the closest when I still used it, but even then that was somewhat fixed by just using your following feed and ignoring the algorithm. It's especially annoying because it's usually US-centric politics.

If your answer to complaints about Lemmy is "stop using it", don't be surprised that it doesn't gain traction.

  • I get that. But I just don't browse lemmy much anymore cause all I see is politics. I specifically went out of my way to not subscribe to political communities. But look at the top posts of !technology@lemmy.world, a community I subscribed to for posts about technology, not politics.

3 of the top 4 are about Trump. They are obviously political, there's no ambiguity there.

This is especially annoying as someone not from the US.

  • If you want to sync your notes between devices, Obsidian Sync is $48 a year. But since it's all just markdown files anyway, you could just use dropbox to sync them anyway.

  • Out of curiosity, how old were you in 2001?

  • Yeah this is the biggest thing that drove me to get diagnosed. I just wasn't doing anything I enjoyed because I couldn't get myself to do it. I would just watch YouTube instead. Now when I'm medicated I actually do the stuff that I'm interested in.

  • App if I use it often, website for everything else. The UI is usually better in the app. Many mobile websites are a pain to use. Plus I have a system-wide ad blocker

  • The bald eagle bill was one of 50 pieces of legislation that Biden signed into law on Christmas Eve

But you're worried about this one bill

  • They're claiming that they'll still support it, and this is an "alternative" to Arc browser. But I think I'm just gonna assume that they're not going to add new features to it anymore. Besides, I just don't have faith in them anymore after this pivot from out of nowhere that nobody wanted.

  • I mean, come on, it has to be Minecraft. One of the most influential games of all time. There really is nothing like it

  • Flareon

  • You should check out all the games on that site, they're very good. There's even a free mobile app with no ads

  • Hey, I was born in the early 2000s and Club Penguin was huge when I was a kid! Everyone my age knows about it.

  • *electric eel. Electric eels are not eels.

  • Several scientists told Vox that there are significant issues with the study design.

  • Lol, I mean it's better to have a brief period of drama than permanently put up with the bad management. Although Sodium is an exception to that, I think the people working on it are the right people.

I'm conflicted on the license change, though. I don't know if it makes sense or not.

  • Intelligence is knowing that Scooby Doo taught us that the real monsters are the humans.

  • Most relatable comic I've seen in a while

  • Fediverse @lemmy.world
