I wear a watch so it's not a problem. Actually, what IS a problem is that my microwave is also a convection over / air fryer but they didn't put sufficient thermal insulation around the electronics/display, so the display is slowly getting cooked and the LED segments keep dying one after another. It's becoming difficult to see how much time is remaining when I cook stuff.
I think I'm somewhat ready for everything you listed except a water shortage. Not too worried about that at this point, we periodically get large amounts of rain and my drinking water comes from the Hetch Hetchy reservoir. If/when I can get my hands on an Aptera that'll be reassuring as well.
I think we're in the process of collapsing, not collapsed yet. Bad timing for me, I just landed the best job I've ever had by a wide margin. I've been approaching fight-or-flight mode for a while. Fortunately I'm in California and I haven't been personally affected that much, yet, other than the psychological damage from reading/watching the news.
IIRC Amazon bought Ring quite some time ago. Run partnered with Flock a while back and then cancelled their contract recently? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Costco is great. I trust their stuff but I bought a ceiling fan from them and I'm about to return it. I'm glad they have a 90-day return policy.
