fixate on what you think you know... you're missing what you don't though.

  • let it play out. so far the judiciary has been the only administrative bulwark. we will know so much more very shortly and that will dictate what hand is forced next.

edit: not defending the democrats one bit, but they may be looking for judicially adjudicated constitutional overreach by the executive. when that happens, if the dems dont react with leadership and direction, the only thing left is mass street action (bets on this actually getting organized?) and then there will almost certainly be real violence - which may open up the fourth box.

  • for the taxpaying public? no.

if there in one iota of disagreement between the parties, then yes. and even if it is 100% amicable... still yes.

  • it was hilarious! a highlight of my day so far.

  • "4 billion years between our ears, still hatred brings us many tears"

  • atrophied empathy will doom our species as surely as any other existential crisis we currently face.

    that is all.

dangerous af. Glad you are ok, but a single misstep might have changed the community this got posted into. again, very glad you are ok.

  • yeah, I'm good with this.

  • would love to poke at it, but does not seem to work via Tor with JS disabled. :´(

however, thumbs up to the idea of new, "interesting" frontends!

  • reasonable critique. I would, however, say that his messages were entirely obfuscated, e.g. when placed into firm context by project 2025 he did the whole "I barely know him" BS - but, like any snake oil salesman, encouraged people to assume what they wanted to assume.

without going into the terrible history of politics, hegemony and empire in the us, harris and walz were pretty run of the mill centrist players - i.e. more of the same.

trump captured the undereducated/underinformed/otherist/accelerationist/populist rage and deftly parried those voters (and the the rest of us) into the gaping wolf maw.

I am decidedly not a conservative and thanks for the expanded explanation. much appreciated.

  • I'll bite...

I understand why people voted for him over the dem candidates cos they were awful.

    expand on this?

  • from TFA:

go for the tires. easily accessible. high energy density.

  • the top 10% of asset owners now account for 50% of all spending. this used to be ~30% years ago. discretionary spending by the vast majority of the population is in terminal decline.

your best bet to finish the extraction of wealth from the bulk of society is a (not so) hidden tax on necessities, and this is exactly what the tariffs are - a non congressionally approved tax.

tariffs, combined with the dismantling of public services and social security, will allow trump to fund his multi trillion $ tax breaks for his real base. you and I are the surplus thatbwill now be funnelled upwards.

  • the grift is built in. its going to pay for tax cuts for the ultra wealthy.

  • What you just said is important – that a tariff is a tax and it is passed on to consumers,” the host said.

“Of course it is,” Mullin replied. “Everybody knows that.”

“That is something the white house does not acknowledge,” Collins said.

“No, that is something that the president, who as a business person, understands that completely,” Mullin insisted. “No one understands the economy better than this president. There hasn’t been a president that understands the economy better than this president.”

wtf?! well, that was a 1984 "how many fingers am I holding up, winston" moment. damn!

  • I would agree. this grass is feeling a tad bit plastic.

  • this is what a political cult looks like.

  • not excusing the bullshit fecklessness of the average corporate democrat, but medicare, medicaid and social security have pretty broad support. its a component of the pushback.

at the two most recent protests I have been to, signs about this get the most interest from passers-by. jus' sayin'.

  • now I'm hungy, dammit! gorgeous, yummy carbs, savoury tomato base and (what looks like) just enough protein to assuage the guilt. this is dullster food porn. way to go, op!

  • subscribed. thanks!
