  • I recall they were telling us it needed to be pretty much exactly 70% to sanitise hands during COVID

  • It would suck the water out of your mouth :)

  • I'm a homebrewer, so I have a boiler large enough to sous vide a turkey (or a lamb), but I do wonder where one would find a large enough bag, I think you'd have to weld several bags together

  • The first guard was killed by neck snapping, the second guard was immune

  • Also homebrewer here, you're correct, that yeast can be reused several times, limited by the yeast mutating away from what you want, though many brewing yeasts have been reused for centuries

The yeast is only half done with its intended activity too. What it tries to do:

    • Digest sugar into poisonous ethanol (which we quite like)
    • Wait, trusting the ethanol to keep everything else out
    • Digest the ethanol to acetic acid (vinegar)

Wine vinegar is grape juice done to brewers yeast's plan

  • Yeah we call them light globes in Australia, as well as bulbs

  • Ceres is more than a third of the mass of the asteroid belt. It's at least an order of magnitude bigger than anything else in its orbit. It's hardly a hunk of rock

  • He should have said "power" not electricity

Humans dissipate power in the range of old tungsten lamps - on the order of 100W at rest, brains use about 20% of that, so 20W - about the same as an energy efficient globe

  • Also lightning

  • My workplace was still using DOS machines (386s) in 2015 to format letters. It couldn't be emulated as the critical component was an ISA card

One of the pieces of work I worked on was diverting the data stream aimed at that letter system and translating it to go via our more modern correspondence system

  • Rip

    Jump
  • Why censor your own words? It's not like you're not saying them.

  • I run teams in Firefox and it's fine. Audio and camera are stable for hours. You can use a private window to test if it's your extensions

  • WebEx also has audio settings which teams doesn't

  • I'm taking from the Australian context where someone always owns the land and it's cheaper to buy rights to place and service a turbine then to buy land

I suppose you live somewhere the land can be leased from government

  • You know why people who live near wind power hate wind power?

It's because their neighbour got paid to host a turbine, and they did not. It is envy.

  • Everyone is chemical

  • Living in Australia, with China just to the north as our largest trade partner, I'm not looking forward to what is going to happen with America's allies in relation to China

  • RF isn't magic. It is awfully finicky though, so don't touch the BNC cable

  • They may filter incoming air, but I doubt it
