  • Pretty sure the third is also a snowy, but a female. Could be wrong though.

  • All of my aunts and uncles on one side have had it, including my dad. Various types. Just found out my cousin also has it so that kind of wiped out my slim hope that they had been exposed to something environmental instead of it being genetic.

  • Heath Ledger

  • My kids’ music teacher did it. They were playing songs with boomwhackers and she had a YouTube channel going with songs and the video told them when to hit each note. Anyway the last one she did said it was Beyoncé but it was Rick. This was third grade and I’d say at least half of them got it.

  • I get why people would say minivan but I actually think Death would drive a huge Excursion or similar massive SUV because of the limited pedestrian sight lines and likelihood of crushing any vehicle it gets into an accident with.

  • We did that with PG&E. Except we did get something in return: lots of dead people.

  • Mine is not nearly as bad as yours, but it is loud and doesn’t stop beeping when you open the door, just continues until its preprogrammed three loud beeps are over. I muted it when my kids were babies and have never looked back. I think a lot of people worry about muting their microwave because they think they won’t hear when it’s done or something. I’m here to tell you that you won’t miss it. Go forth and rip that speaker out with no regrets.

  • If I’m super tired but not willing to sleep yet for reasons (lack of free time other than the evening, being the main one), I usually put the tv on and play games on my phone. Not a great use of time but as we’ve established, tired.

If I’m tired but not that tired, I put the tv on and I knit. It’s my main hobby and I’m good at it, to the point that it usually doesn’t require much thought. My secondary hobby is sewing which is much newer for me and I can’t do that tired; I make too many mistakes.

It sounds like I watch a lot of tv, but in reality the period of 9-10:30pm is the only chance I get and not every night. So it’s not that much in the long run.

  • Surprisingly the opposite in my house. Even though my husband runs warm and I run cold, if I take a shower right after him, I always have to turn the temp down. He likes to get scalded or something.

  • I honestly forgot he existed

  • Canada? As if my American ass wasn’t envious enough of you Canadians!

  • Don’t get me wrong, I want the carbs but my gut disagrees!

  • Ha you might not know it from some of these replies! Might bust out some Campbell’s.

  • Maybe for dinner tonight…

  • Oooh heartburn be damned, that does sound good!

  • A couple of my coworkers and I, all musicians, had kids around the same time and we all complained about being able to hear the loop in the rain or ocean “white” noises from various baby machines.

  • Oh yeah /r/stupiddovenests was awesome.

  • One of the subreddits I miss terribly is /r/divorcedbirds. She would fit in nicely. But someone cleverer than me should come up with a good backstory.

  • I get that. I had already been burned by VW with the TDI scandal, so I was pretty frustrated with car companies in general. Are any of them truly ethical or consumer-focused? We saw that Tesla was at least trying to make the electric car thing work and we wanted to support that movement—not because we think electric cars are the endgame solution, but because we think they’re a step in the right direction and we wanted to encourage the market to follow their lead.

And buying a car is not an investment. It’s not like we own Tesla stock.

One thing I did really, really like about buying a car from Tesla is that they don’t use a dealership model. What a breath of fresh air! I never want to buy from a dealer ever again if I can help it. But I think the next time we’re in the market, we’ll buy used anyway.
