Cs:go was one of the first online games, even if you can't play competitive, you'll probably have fun in the community servers play Surf maps or hide and seek or something
I believe netherlands or somewhere also do a thing where ammo is only available at ranges and places where you use guns, you can't bring the ammo home with you.
Sure, there will always be some guys who break the rules but I'm sure that will prevent a lot of school shootings having ammo readily available.
But really, the very core issue is conditions for the children and the family are just terrible right now.
