  • Supply and demand sounds nice, but then innocent citizens can still get arrested for following their own economic interests and chipping in on a GoFundMe whose only crime was hiring a ninja to threaten these RAM company assholes who are too rich for normal laws to keep them in check.

This is a joke, of course. I would never do anything like that - because I don't understand how BitCoin works. I mean, because of moral and good citizen reasons. That was another joke, your honor.

  • Yes. And I need to watch Elisium again.

  • Pencil pushers gonna push pencil.

I'll be surprised if we learn there was actually no dark web back room deal providing this stuff to anyone who didn't appreciate the law getting in the way.

  • Great write-up. This technique has helped me, as well.

  • Circle ain't the problem it's me not being able to accept love.

I feel that. I had to fake it till I could make it. I don't know if that can help everyone, but it helped me.

I made rules for myself about how I would choose to respond to love, and first they became habits, and then much later, they came with the kind of feelings that I suspect many people got for free from day one.

  • Great write up.

That's how I cope, as well.

I didn't even realize I had the highs and lows going until this year. I just found that aiming for small incremental improvements to situations that sabotaged me was the only way for me to get by.

Edit: This year, someone pointed out to me that certain personality types seem prone to burts of high activity and slumps of low energy - and that I matched most of those traits.

I've been coping through my low energy times with various habits and routines, while I write a to-do list to remove obstacles, which I systemicly work through. Of course, during high energy times, I get much more done against that list.

  • lol. Yes.

I will sign up for Mullvad tomorrow if he actually does something meaningful about it.

I haven't even looked up the price, but I'll keep my word.

Only I won't have to, because the odds are this guy is another spineless piece of shit.

  • At the very least set up a Mastodon account somewhere in addition to those.

    Yes!

I want to get a huge banner flag with this sentence printed on it, and pay someone to run past various offices with it each day.

  • Could be those Flock cameras, with all the enshittification going on, just fall apart on their own.

    I heard that too.

  • Yes. His Mom looked shifty. Not enough evidence to convict.

  • Expect an import ban on Chinese made ram to be coming soon.

Yes. I do half-way expect that.

Of course, I also look forward to investing in novelty keychains, which just coincidentally come with a free teddy bear, which itself has a couple of RAM sticks sewn inside.

  • Fair point.

  • Its the same product with/without.

AI copies from the middle of the curve of quality averages, throwing out the highest and lowest quality examples (for being different).

Use of AI does have bearing on quality.

A skilled team can undo that harm, and a particularly unskilled team may be better off with AI than without.

But it is incorrect to claim that AI has no impact on quality of outcome.

  • I hope there's lots of innocent bystanders streaming it... so we can all think about how to do better in the future.

  • Are they going to build a bunch of data centers and half sit unused or underutilized?

I've been surprised how many people don't realize were headed for this.

Most of these are going to be urban waste mold centers, where kids go explore and sometimes get hurt.

Edit: But a few will turn into inaccessible poorly placed paintball arenas or bowling alleys. So that's nice, I guess.

Edit 2: I'm sarcastic, but I'm also a hypocrite. Feel free to quote me on how this was all a bad idea, while I play paintball.

  • The company's shares plunged by 8% the day after the Luce was unveiled.

Lol. They let an iPhone designer design a Ferrari, and it really shows. (Edit: The iPhone designer just designed the interior, I'm told.)

Whoever designed that smooth as a booger look clearly didn't have a poster with Ferrari on it, in their room, as a kid.

I would sell their stock too, if I had any.

  • I agree that the concerns listed there are smells, and I wasn't aware of some of the options listed there.

    Thank you for sharing this!

  • Holy cow. I'm stealing that. The reverse Turing test is whether we humans have the brains not to turn everything over to untrusted AI. Lol.

  • More and more things that could just be bash scripts are being added as stupid Claude.md scripts.

But they can pay an ongoing subscription cost for the Claude script, and it may sometimes hallucinate.

The bash script would be free forever and keep working unchanged for decades.

It's too soon to know which approach is the right way. (I nearly died of sarcasm, there.)

Anyway, I agree. There may not be enough popcorn for all of this!
