  • I recall reading a post on Reddit where somebody was able to have two people playing from a single machine with dual video cards dedicated to VMs.

  • Wonder how well this might work for AI stuff.. Dedicate GPU segments to processing on stuff VMs

  • No need to eat the rich if they end up eating each other

  • Enterprise also had slightly different looking Klingons and IIRC addressed why (a genetic disorder or disease IIRC)

  • Yeah, it follows a lot of the "futuristic parallels to modern day issues" that we saw with ToS and TNG, while at the same time adding in humor that ranges from tongue-in-cheek to outright raunchy. I can't imagine a TNG episode that would address "holodeck sex addiction" but Orville actually manages to do a pretty good job of stradding seriousness of that issue along with humor.

For the more serious stuff: imagine an alliance when it's discovered that one of the members has done (and is still doing) some stuff that's pretty strongly against the morals of the rest. If called on it they threaten to pull out. While all are in the middle of a war for survival. And they're also one of the biggest weapons suppliers

That's pretty close to some issues today while also being years old.

  • Well, in Canada they got caught faking last-minute sales for EV rebates, which might trigger closer scrutiny in other places as well

  • My thought as well. It's not "won't return him", it's "can't". Poor guy is probably already dead, and they won't return the body claiming "an unfortunate accident" because he's either cremated or showing signs of torture

  • Free for life? Here is always been free for only the first few years of ownership and then you pay, plus the system is fucking terrible and doesn't work half the time.

  • Yeah those tariffs on Canada are certainly going to help that, and he certainly never said they'd be lifted if Canada became a, what was it? Ah yes, "beloved 51st state"

As for 6% mortgages, that's not a particularly high number actually. If you went in a 2% expecting that to last forever, maybe.

  • Barbie-wannaby, including the plastic

  • "senior" is a pretty wide range though. You can be old enough to get a senior's discount and still able enough to do most things. Maybe you aren't going to be doing 100 situps after jogging 10 miles, but march the streets and hold a rifle sure, and there's probably a good mix of ex-military in there as well as people who know how to make stuff go kaboom in unique and interesting ways.

Taking away their reasons to sit contently and die quietly might not work out as well as some think, but this party in particular is pretty good at thinking everyone but themselves are inept.

  • Must have used autopen...

  • Smarter? Quite possibly.

But I'd say the people who are smarter are already manipulating him behind the scenes anyhow. Anyone coming after would at least have less of a cult following hopefully

  • While we're wishing: Lightning strike during a golf swing on a clear blue day would be a nice message

  • I still have my circa-2016 email confirming my pledge for the Time 2 Silver, which ultimately got cancelled just before the fulfillment date due to Pebble selling out to Fitbit.

While I loved my original Pebble back then, I would really want something similar to look and function of the T2S so will watch this project in hopes it too is resurrected

  • And the "just following orders" folks?

  • Watch they do. I know because I've reported things for violating electrical standards, etc and made damn sure to emphasize that to their support, only to seethe same continue thing being sold months later.

  • That's willful ignorance. While the willfully ignorant can be stupid (lack of intelligence) more often it seems to be due to arrogance and/or just being an asshole in general

  • the end consumer always foots the bill.

Or the consumer can't/won't take on the extra burden of cost, and the business loses enough sales to go under.
