I watched Superman: Red Son last night. Throughout the entire movie I was wondering what the plot resolution would be.
In it, Stalin is enriching himself while killing millions (just like real life). Superman finds it appalling that Stalin's only response is "it's necessary." In the US, Lex Luthor is doing typical capitalist bullshit just getting rich and getting power.
But LEX LUTHOR ends up doing it all for altruistic reasons because even Superman can't create a perfect society without harming dissenters. At the end, instead of continuing the altruistic steps, he steps down from power for his VP to do it and fucks off to a private island with billionaire stuff.
What I got out of it? Capitalism good, it saves you from gulag and brain control devices. And billionaires will save you.
Man these guys keeping their shit together while ICE cower behind masks, guns and armor is down right impressive.
They want violence so fucking bad. Blocking their vehicles, overwhelming their arrests, preventing their ability to shelter comfortably? They will either snap and massacre or gradually just get unmotivated to keep trying it.
I couldn't do this. In the one video, when I heard one of the agents arm their weapon my own fight or flight activated, and that adrenaline pumped hard. Logically, it sort of makes sense. If they're going to start shooting, I'm not going to make it to a safe spot. If I can't run then it's fight.
I believe it was canonized that Vader made improvements when it was required. Vader was still a technical genius and a pilot that no one rivaled.
Take his right hand for instance - he was given the first prosthetic, that he replaced during the clone wars. One of his legs in a comic gets beat to all hell, and he rips off a jedi training droid leg to replace it, which works better and is far sturdier.
But originally it was intended to be a hinderance. Anikin was a walking vergence in the force, simply by existing he made his connection to the force stronger. By sticking him in a much less technically advanced cyborg suit than what Grievous got, he could also just blast him with some lightning to weaken him physically again.
If you have ADHD you know that nothing is friendly. Or everything can be. Or something that triggers feel good becomes interesting and good. Maybe you know why you asked the question, maybe it doesn't matter. Maybe I forgot why i started answering this in the first place.
I'm certainly not kidding about it. Associating with communism or people who associate with communism is a big NO. And it doesn't exactly make sense anymore, but that's the FBI for you
However, anything that requires security clearance or is PR for the employer will (in the US at least).
If you want a job that needs clearance, I recommend closing your social media now, stopping all drugs now, and wait at least 7 years before applying to those jobs. Limit travel. Work to have any mental health records destroyed (idk if you can actually do this) and cancel therapy. Stop using Lemmy, and don't do anything that remotely indicates that you associate with divergent cultures (i.e. communism or anarchism).
For PR - just stay off social media and drugs and don't talk about work except in an extremely positive way.
