    • They call them Flock Safety cameras. I don't care if that's the name. We should know them by Flock

    The Trump administration has bulldozed a rare archaeological site in the Arizona desert, according to reporting from the Washington Post. The destruction took place within Cabeza Prieta National Wildlife Refuge, where crews ran heavy machinery over a 1,000-year-old intaglio, a massive ground etching resembling a fish sacred to the Hia-ced O’odham and Tohono O’odham people. The incident is the latest in a series of cultural and environmental threats to public lands on the border as the administration uses waivers to bypass federal laws protecting historic sites and the environment.

    An anonymous Interior department employee confirmed the intaglio had been damaged last week as the administration fast-tracked construction of a second set of border barriers in the area. Richard Martynec, a retired archaeologist who found the site in 2002, suggested officials “knew something special was there” because stakes had been placed directly through the intaglio weeks ago, marking the planned path of construction over the site.

    Residents and Tribal members have expressed concerns that other important sites are potentially threatened by border wall construction, including Quitobaquito Springs in Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, which is also home to endangered turtle and fish species, as well as a Native American grave site.

I think we need to take a very hard look at why real income has gone down for millions of Americans despite a huge increase in productivity. In my view, every American is entitled to at least a minimum standard of living. There are different ways to get to that goal, but that’s the goal that we should strive to reach.

  • You and the other poster have great advice. I would add to this for OP not be afraid to talk about them and try to remember the fun and good things, even though it will possibly make them cry. Get outside in nature as much as possible too. Having a memorial event helps as well, like planting something, leaving flowers somewhere, etc.

    Say you work for a firm that mostly does office buildings. This firm hasn't done a building with a mail room in decades, but now has a project with a mail room for whatever reason. There is no one at the office that would know this info, so you need to look it up. For safety and liability, you have to design for ergonomics. You use the 2d drawings for your details and elevations that explain it.

    Why do they need tips on senior mobility?

    Similar, the firm does hospitals, but was asked to do a senior living home. There are very specific requirements for elderly living. There are classes on this alone for architects and designers. If you are an older designer, you might need to know new info and studies out there. You use these for elevations so you can design heights and materials and finishes for the elderly. For example, if all of the colors are the same for the hallway, the elderly won't be able to distinguish between the floor and the walls.

    It sounds like you've never known an architect or designer before. There is a lot of information going on in their heads, especially for healthcare or anywhere there needs to be repetitive work done. Architects and designers are liable for what goes into their drawings. They're contracts.

  • It absolutely reads like a typical Donald Trump Truth Social post more than any legal filing you’ll ever see:

    “The National Trust for Historic Preservation” is a beautiful name, but even their name is FAKE because when they add the words “in the United States” to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, it makes it sound like a Governmental Agency, which it is not. In fact, the United States refused to continue funding it in 2005 because they strongly disagreed with their mission and objectives. They are very bad for our Country. They stop many projects that are worthy, and hurt many others. In this case, they are trying to stop one that is vital to our National Security, and the Safety of all Presidents of the United States, both current and future, their families, staff, and Cabinet members. They were asked by the United States Military not to bring this suit because of the Top Secret nature of the important facility being built. They were shown detailed plans and specifications of this knitted, unified, and cohesive structure by Top Officers and Leaders in both the Military and Secret Service. But this did not deter them because they suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome, commonly referred to as TDS, as noted by Democrat Senator John Fetterman, of Pennsylvania, and are represented by the lawyer for Barack Hussein Obama, Gregory Craig. The lower section of the building does not work without the upper section and, likewise, the upper section of the building does not work without the lower. It is all one highly integrated unit! As an example, one venting system, one electrical system, one plumbing system, one security system, one air conditioning and heating system, one elevator connector and, very importantly, one structural steel and enforced concrete system — and more. Even the bullet proof windows and glass, and the heavy steel, drone proof roof, protect what is below. With such a facility, it would have been impossible for an attack like that which took place last Saturday evening in D.C. when an attempted assassin, armed with a shotgun, pistol, and knives, charged through a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton in an attempt to assassinate President Donald J. Trump, First Lady Melania Trump, and members of the President’s Cabinet and senior staff, during the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. The Secret Service fortunately neutralized the assassin before he could reach the ballroom. However, Saturday’s narrow miss—which marks the third assassination attempt on President Trump since 2024—confirms what should have already been obvious: Presidents need a secure space for large events, that currently does not exist in Washington, D.C., and this Court’s injunction stalling this Project cannot defensibly continue, for the sake of the safety of President Trump, future Presidents, and their families, Cabinets, and staff. Defendants thus request that this Court issue an indicative ruling under Rule 62.1 that it will dissolve its injunction. Three assassination attempts—including the attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, where an assassin’s bullet hit the President’s ear—is enough. There is absolutely no argument that a woman walking her dog in the vicinity of the White House has STANDING to stop such a desperately needed structure for the people of the United States of America, as it will provide Presidents, current and future, a secure space to do their jobs.

    I kid you not: that is the entire first paragraph of the legal filing. At the very least it raises the question of who actually wrote this. In tone and style, it reads as identical to a typical Donald Trump social media post.

And it was done to make me look bad. And it turned out to be a total fake. It basically was a rigged election. This was a part of the rigging of the election.”
