  • It might be, but who cares.

As a wise man once said: the time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

If you don't enjoy it, tho, then you're definitely wasting your time for no good.

  • World leaders: "you know that's not gonna happen."

  • About 15 years ago we started transitioning from on-site computing to cloud. Now we're reversing the trend under the guise of "edge computing".

  • Ah yes, it's around the time for thin clients of this cycle.

  • Damn that is comically absurd

Before long, we wouldn't need The Onion anymore with all this nonsense!

  • An online service is a program (or a bunch of program).

Giving access when it's not supposed to falls into behaving in a way that's not intended.

Therefore, an online service giving access when it's not supposed to can be classified as a program behaving in a way that's not intended.

Thus, this case fits into your very definition.

  • It also illustrates how a security vulnerability is simply a bug, albeit a dangerous one.

  • CNN as in "Central News Network" or "Convoluted Neural Network"?

  • The way some people think everything needs to look fancy and gimmicky.

Like, I get it, stuff would be better blending in with their surrounding fashion, but if we need to get thru more than three layers of menu to get to something we frequently use, it's wasteful, and if it's for something critical like in a car, it's straight up dangerous.

  • Context matter, especially when you're asking for fairness.

For one, how is she losing money?

    • Does it mean somebody is straight up stealing, i.e. taking stuff without consent?
    • Did someone make a deal that is less than beneficial to her?

If it's the first one, than fuck it, you should beat the shit out of that thief.

If it's the second one, then you should ask yourself how so, and why your mom thinks otherwise.

Also, if you think that she's not paid enough and that she should monetize more, do note that monetizing something would take significant effort, and in some case could've taken the joy out of something she enjoy doing.

  • These fucktards are putting The Onion out of their job.

  • Valid point.

What I would like to add to it is that we will need to defend it from time to time.

We've already seen an example when Meta's Thread tried to federate.

Spammers have also been a nuisance, and thankfully our mods & admins have been handling them well.

  • If what was meant when OP says 'internet' is the cesspool social media, then yes, we should totally ditch them.

However, the fact remains that the real definition of internet is simply a bunch of interconnected devices that run the internet protocol (IP), nothing more and nothing less.

Though I have my doubts, I'm not disagreeing with you or anything, just pointing out that there's a lot of people confusing this term, and simple as it may be, it might be harmful.

  • I agree! If we give up and move somewhere else, they'd just follow us and ruin it.

  • Easy.

Gen Z folks are in their 20s. They're either in college or already in the workforce.

Gen Alpha folks are still in grade school.

Lemme ask you this: have you ever seen a college kid making that 67 reference?

  • She can't even tell the difference between Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

Good thing is, this bullshit of hers may kill 67 hype for good.

  • Also not to be confused with RedoxOS.

  • I wonder if that open up job opportunities..
