Autocorrect hates me, I am sorry.

  • Remember watching your storage capacity increase like some sort of fucking witchcraft? That was the good era of the internet.

  • Wow, this is certainly something

  • Ones I use: “My liege”, pal, beans, Slagathor, buns, honey buns, honey bunches of oats, oats, oat milk, oat milk latte, latte, soy latte, soy, soy sauce (you have to do this in a progression or else it won’t make any sense)

  • lol

    1. Go to Def Con
    2. Wear internet connected camera in bathroom and while typing all passwords
    3. ???
    4. Profit
  • I will admit, I have considered doing this. I'm not happy with any of the Linux desktop environments.

However, this screenshot perfectly demonstrates why I haven't bothered:

    • If you build your own, you still have to deal with the applications
    • Non-native stuff looks incredibly jarring
    • If you build your own (especially using AI), good luck building community.

I'm really curious about edge cases too. Is brightness managed well? HiDPI? What about mixed HiDPI with normal res monitors? Refresh rates? Color profiles? Webcam?

I'm also very confused. Is this Swift, or Dart, or a C++ shim exposed to swift?

    And nitpick: https://starling.build/guide.html

    "Five first-party apps"

    • Settings
    • Files
    • Terminal
    • Calculator
    • App Store - Settings sidebar huh?? I'm counting 6 here, but also this isn't an "app".

Overall, neat project, I'd have liked a human writeup on it though. There's probably some good lessons that could help others (AI or human) build some cool things, but they're not mentioned at all.

  • I'm sure there's a difference between "I deleted evidence" and "I deleted evidence off this device you're inspecting without a warrant, you can have it with a warrant".

But I also feel that unless there's suspicion of a specific crime, you can't really accuse someone of deleting evidence. And no, protesting peacefully is not a crime.

  • What’s the backstory (or lack thereof) on Jimothy?

He’s like that bity baby hippo

  • No he isn't, the only reason Sam Altman would hit the breaks is if he was falling behind and needed to catch up.

  • I just specifically mean every picture of him he looks terrified and exhausted, because he’s been lining up insane amounts of debt and deals that are not backed by real numbers.

I do not mean you have to be a lier or shitty person to be grey. But stacking up stress will grey you.

  • Years of lying and hoping it pans out will do that to you.

  • They asked AI how much to spend.

  • I love DS9, but I would rather watch TNG than Voyager.

Early voyager (especially Neelix) hurts to watch. Once they pick up Seven of Nine and they make the doctor more of a crew member it’s really really good, but as a whole, if I had to choose to only watch TNG or Voyager again, TNG would win.

  • I’m just happy “what’s the best Trek” is as debatable as “what’s the worst Trek”

    Not every franchise has that.

  • This is censorship manifest!

I think most people would have been fine with like a ublock style collection blocklists they could enable or disable and subscribe to, the problem was hiding it and doing it unilaterally.

Putting in a DDOS tool is just another signal this person isn’t mature enough to be trusted with your computer.

  • By learning it just creates a list of “facts” it extracts from the conversation.

    There’s no updating model weights.

(Though I suspect you know that due to your use of quotes this is not for posterity)

  • The ID.Buzz is in my opinion the posterchild for "we have to make EV look different" era of design.

The Buzz and the early BMW i3 that stand out to me as ugliest cars of the decade. Cybertruck currently holds the throne, with the Ferrari Luce biting at it's heals (for looking like Ferrari hired Homer Simpson)
