ChromeOS is Linux as much as Mac is BSD. Nobody except "technically" people mean that. And last I checked, ChromeOS had eve less "market share" than Linux. Linux is as 4% right now and ChromeOS at a single percent. At least do your research before spreading this bilge.
Make Google Pixels more valuable on the second hand market means even more reason for people to buy one new because they know it will still have value to some nerd. It still helps google.

GrapheneOS has amazing marketing. They have convinced people to give more money to Google than google would ever make from selling their private information. Is GrapheneOS a Scroogle-op?
The 83GB figure is the entre nixpkgs network not nixpkgs itself. Before codeberg got that far, it would take a while. It took nixpkgs 20 years to get there. The actual nixpkgs repo is 2.5GB bare and 5GB checked out.
Github could still function as a read-only mirror (as in no PRs, but it's pushed to from codeberg or whatever forge they use).
These aren't unsolvable problems. It's also a reason I hope radicle will get contributions to support bigger repos as it truly is a distributed forge.

And I don't think they'd need sponsors but volunteers to host the CI machines. Tapping into the community to provide those could possibly get a few. If effort were put into using some content addressed network, distribution of packages could further be spread.
And if radicle finally supported large repositories, it could actually be hosted there and distribution would happen across all nodes willing to host the project. But that's not possible yet.
A lot of effort is being put into building a ecosystem for a proprietary Microslop platform. It's a pity.
Do it like my previous employer: hook up an AI to the ticketing system that writes a fix for every ticket and creates a PR to review with the fix. Let another agent review it and label it as AI reviewed.
They wanted to go full AI and let it also merge the fix, but nobody was comfortable with that. I imagine your current employer would be though.
I bet you that the instance size counts. Matrix has many instances you can pick from. You can also self-host or get a managed instance (someone hosts the system for you). And all of this can be done in jurisdictions that don't have shitty laws.

IRC? That's text only. It doesn't even support viewing images, much less making voice or video calls. The majority isn't going to install multiple clients to text and call.

I've seen this mentioned multiple times even for Matrix (which does have Matrix Call). What do you mean with "screen sharing"? Just sharing your screen during a call?
XMPP is not better than Matrix. My major gripes with it are OMEMO and the clients that implement different subsets of the extensions.
OMEMO still is an extension instead of the core. It should be extremely easy to upgrade a chat to an encrypted one but if the client doesn't have a plugin installed to support it, you're stuck with unencrypted traffic.
And the clients I've tested have all been visually unappealing and lacking in features. Reacting to messages, quoting messages, using threads, encryption, and finding rooms has been difficult or impossible with them.
Matrix has a major advantage over XMPP in that it has an official, reference client which implements just about everything. It works better than most any XMPP client I've tried and, this is my feeling, every MSC accepted by the foundation has actually been implemented, instead of just being suggested and"left as an exercise to the developer".
Matrix didn't come out of nowhere and didn't supplant XMPP for no reason. XMPP simply doesn't have the ecosystem that makes it attractive to users and debs alike.
Exactly. Fairphones support eOS with relocking the bootloader. You can even buy a new fairphone with eOS preinstalled.
