You would need to create yet another version of HTTP to handle that (a few years) and banks would have to handle it globally (at least 5 years from my own experience). It will never happen like that. Banks are the slowest companies to handle that kind of modification.
It's funny that we went from "AIDS is killing people all over the place" in the 80s to "I had sex with a stranger that does not respect me and it's fine, am I the asshole."
When did people stop respecting themselves? And how could they not learn about this AIDS thing?
I'm pretty sure there is already a cryptographic protocol that can do this, but that's not the point. We do NOT need age verification in software, it makes no sense. We need parents to take care of their own children because why would open-source software do the job of failed parenting? It's a social issue, not something that can be solved with technology. Or we would have put shock-collars on every kids when they don't behave.
I had a guy like this at a previous job. Same story with everything. The guy was a self-proclaimed master of weird languages that no one ever used.
He actually managed to become my supervisor. I immediately went to the big boss and told him I would quit if it happened. The boss confirmed that he would become my supervisor and it was a final decision.
I quit. What's weird is that I was the only macOS/iPhone developer at the time in a mostly Windows company. They struggled for a few months after I left, and they closed the company.
That guy is now a manager at a fast food. I pity the employees who work with him.
I don't believe they are networked. No article mentions this. I have those in France and see employees "update" the tags with a handheld device, which suggests that there is no network at all. Maybe an underpowered bluetooth or NFC, but definitely not a network.
